Flat 8 Buxton Town centre apartment

The property was really clean and close to the centre

I had to heat the water for 45 minutes to have a shower so didn’t bother. We were not told this information before I booked.

Located at top of hill in old town. Location ok but spoilt by funfair outside during our stay.

Difficult to open front door - struggled with key every time. Low ceiling over bed was a hazard difficult to avoid.

Very convenient for the sights of Buxton, and the apartment was well-equipped and nicely furnished. Clear instructions were given for all appliances etc.

I realise entirely that the following are completely beyond the control of the hosts but they did affect our stay. The communal staircase was scruffy and unwelcoming, and smelled of cannabis smoke. (Fortunately the apartment itself is beautiful!) The worst thing for me was the constant noise from the market place outside, which was unavoidable as we had all windows open in the heatwave. The bells on the town hall chimed every hour of the night, and there were people shouting and arguing at the tops of their voices as the pubs emptied and long into the night, which was also punctuated by the sounds of boy racers with loud exhausts. It was a shame because the flat is lovely and Buxton is such a nice town.

We appreciated having a proper kitchen and a washing machine, plus a separate sitting room. The shower was good and the bed comfortable. The climb up the stairs was worth it for the views! Appreciated having the parking permit.

Luckily we were forewarned about the access to the flat - it’s very unfortunate for the host that the horrible stair carpets are out of her control!

The price for the great view are a lot of stairs through an ugly hallway ;D

Beautiful property with incredible views, flat had everything you would need! Stones throw away from parks and shops etc

The location was great, the flat was clean, comfortable and cosy.

It was pointed out that the communal area could do with a tidy up.
