"Location quite good, the flat was clean and cosy. The photographs of the flat were quite misleading & nothing mentio"

It was clean and had everything you needed.

Had to climb right flights of stairs to get to our room. The bed was broken.

"Another successful stay in St Clements."

8.0

This is the second time I have stayed in these flats for a week at a time, and the location is wonderful. Easy walk into the city or catch a bus, with a public carpark nearby, and plenty of pubs, eateries, and supermarkets around. The heating was good, and I stayed comfortably warm. The flats feel quite homely. I had the basement flat this time, so the entry was straight in from St Clements. The kitchen is more than adequate for a holiday stay, with a full stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, washer/dryer, and plenty of kitchen utensils, pots, and pans. The bathroom was great, and the shower was lovely and hot with good water flow. Even the hot water in the kitchen came through really fast, so there was no running the tap for ages and wasting water! TVs in both the lounge and bedroom. The agency is easy to contact for any issues and the cleaning ladies did a great job.

The wifi works quite well, considering it's a basement flat in an old house (and in Oxford, which is notoriously bad everywhere). I struggled to make phone calls or send messages from within the flat, so had to go up to street level to get them to send. Not really a major issue unless you were trying to do work. I did notice some mould forming in the fireplace area, so I suspect the chimney has developed a leak. It is an old building, so it's not surprising, but the cleaning staff do need to be vigilant in looking for mould and cleaning appropriately.

"Generally good but owners are neglecting several key aspects (beds, refrigerator, etc.)"

5.0

Keys: Code at the base floor entrance, code to open key box on level 4 at the flat door. Generally a tidy flat. Small but nice.

- The LISTING as sold was not what was offered. The day before I arrive I was sent an email that said while the unit I rented was FLAT A (I have the confirmation) that I was staying in FLAT D on the fourth floor. In addition, while the address shown was on the main street, it was revealed that to access the unit one had to walk a block away from town, around a back alley, and down another alley to access the entry door, and then up 4 flights to the flat. So every time I went out, for example, to simply walk toward town to pay my parking meter, it was a long errand. I came and went often to run errand and to go jogging, do work on my PC and more, and it became a drag on time as this was not communicated in the original listing I'd paid for. In addition, the refrigerator "rained" from the inside constantly. After I communicated all my food was soaked in water - dry slices of cheese were soggy and inedible, and cottage cheese was filled with water, and lettuce wrapped in a bag was soaked, they sent a man who simply chipped away the ice. But the next day all my new fresh food was in a pool of water. The main bed is unstable and would wobble in the middle uncomfortably. I could see the entire top of the inside of the refrig was peeling, showing it has aged and needs to be replaced. The owner needs to go live there an get these things fixed. The couch, which I used as a bed, is a hard ikea-style couch. A futon would provide some cushion. This one is just a hard solid slab. Again, the owners should go live there for a week and ensure what they offer is in fact true. Some small things too - like oven overhead light not working so there was no other light than the main ceiling light. I also emailed the owners re: the television having no connection to any channel or services but I received no reply. So this was a fine, basic, rugged situation but it is possible a little neglect is reducing the value and the customer experience.
