Heartwood Barn

Ann and Ian were lovely hosts and made us very welcome. The bacon and eggs Ann left for us were much appreciated! The barn was very well appointed, especially the bedrooms and bathroom, and the beds were very comfortable. The garden was beautiful; we particularly liked seeing it from the main bedroom window and watching the birds just outside. The location was quiet, and ideal for us to visit gardens and National Trust properties, and it was within walking distance of the pub!

Although fine for us (3 adults), the accommodation may be a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults - the dining area particularly, was very small and you have to watch your head. Hearing noises overhead took some getting used to: it is a very old barn, so not ideal if you're a light sleeper.

Excellent Breakfast goodies were supplied. Hosts were a delight, fun, efficient and obliging.

Being ground floor property I expected it would be more suitable for those with disabilities. Stairs to dining area, high sided bath, shower with no grab rails made it risky.

We were presented with a freshly home-baked loaf of bread on arrival which was delicious and also bacon and eggs, milk, tea and coffee and also cupcakes. The location was perfect for us in attending a wedding in Ticehurst and the accommodation in the barn was a showcase of brilliant craftsmanship and tasteful decor with all the modern conveniences you could wish for. Excellent bathroom with a great shower.

Nothing to say. Everything was really excellent.

It was very cute and had all the things a property needed. It was well furnished, lovely bathroom and a rustic feel. Very friendly hosts and ample parking.

The noise from the above property was loud. We stayed two nights and on the second night in the early hours of the morning about 4am we were woken to talking and lots of moving around which meant we did not get much sleep after that.

Very cosy and everything you could need. Execllent location and hosts very helpful. Building and grounds full of character.

In the second (smaller) bedroom you could hear the TV from above, which meant I couldnt sleep until it was turned off. But its an old building so not much that can be done

The location, owner, facilities and welcome were all perfect. The owner (Ann) left us some bread butter, cakes, eggs and bacon for our first breakfast which was a lovely touch and most welcome. Ann's recommendation for us to go out and have a lovely breakfast was spot on - we went to A21 Aroma - it was excellent.

We were in the 2 bedroom ground floor accommodation. Unfortunately, the people above would create a lot of noise just walking around due to the old floorboards. The upside was that the floorboards did give it character.
