Grassmarket Old Town Boutique Apartment

What a cool apartment! Location was great

Gorgeous, well located apartment with excellent amenities!

This place is ALL ABOUT THE LOCATION! Right on Grassmarket with bars, shops, people watching, and Greyfrairs right around the corner. This is how I assume “living like a local would feel”. The communication with the property manager and Amanda was phenomenal and very welcoming! They answered all our questions quickly through WhatsApp! Having luggage storage below at the market was super helpful but Amanda and team were kind enough to allow us to leave our bags in the apartment prior to check in (THANK YOUUUUU!!!). Truly the location of this apartment could not be any better. Truly a wonderful, fun space and I had a great time people watching from the living room!

There were a few things that were totally out of control of the owner: 1.) There was super loud drilling/sawing in the apartment next door at 7-7:30am every morning… wasn’t super pleased but that’s living in an apartment. 2.) Even for someone like myself, who has lived in apartments in cities all their life, it was very noisy. I don’t think there is proper insulation in the property due to its age (again, nothing they can do about that). So if you’re a light sleeper, want to sleep in, or just want a calm morning, this might not be the place for you! Now there are a few things I would adjust (personal opinion): 1.) Providing additional pillows and duvets for guests. Only 1 duvet is tough. 2.) Providing more than just 2 of each silverware, plates, cups, etc. Four of each would be preferred. 3.) We stayed here for a week (2 females) and were only provided 2 rolls of toilet paper. When we asked for additional rolls, we were told that they “only get us started” and we would have to “go to the shop to buy/replace”. I find this a little ridiculous as we paid a decent amount and the least we could get was 1 more roll of TP 😅 4.) The wifi is super spotty anywhere but the living room/kitchen. 5.) As cute as the decor was, it was definitely a little overdone (tons of stuff on the table) and difficult to move around the apartment because the decor was very large and took up a lot of space in the small apartment. 6.) The lighting made it difficult to see. All the lights are Edison bulbs, not regular lights (besides the kitchen) so the lighting was very dim!

Excellent Location. Amazingly decorated. Shower was powerful. All round brilliant apartment.

Shower screen could of been better. Was difficult to not get the ground wet.

The location couldn't have been better and the building itself was amazing! The attention to detail in the decor as well as the amenities exceeded my expectations.

I can't think of a single thing I didn't like about this property. r
