Grassmarket Old Town Boutique Apartment

The location of this apartment is excellent, within walking distance of many of the sites. Even though the apartment is on a main tourist street, the noise was minimal and we had no trouble sleeping. The bed was very comfortable, and the apartment was very clean and nice! We loved the decor and cozy feeling of the apartment. We would definitely recommend a stay here for a visit to Edinburgh! Both Amanda and Gary were great hosts, and Amanda met us when we first arrived to give us the keys and a rundown of the apartment, and was very accommodating with our early arrival time.

We loved everything. The host met us on location, and the flat was even more beautiful than we expected. I cannot think of a better location in all of Edinburgh than this place. The decor and attention to detail to make you feel like you were in Scotland was lovely, the amenities were everything we could ask for. I feel like we hit the lottery picking this place.

The location was nice

Recommend having lotion for guests. The shower curtain stops in the middle of the tub. It would be much better and a bigger area to shower if the current went all the way around the tub and not through the middle of the tub.

Really excellent location and easy to reach anywhere you'd like to explore. Being met to provide keys and explain a few things was nice. Great eateries and pubs nearby and lots to look at, especially the view of the castle, which is easy to reach via the steps nearby. There are some great facilities in the apartment and lots of unusual decorative features. The stereo is great, it's nice to have a cafetiere to make a nice coffee. We liked being able to do our own thing and make food in if we wanted to. It was great having Virgin TV if you'd rather have a night in after a long day out. It was nice to have a few tea bags to get us started when we got there.

These are minor points.... it's great having lovely things to look at, but it's really important to be comfortable. The bed is difficult to get comfortable in as there's no headboard, so pillows slip off the back quite easily. Of course, beds are very personal. The mirrors to reflect the castle view are a lovely idea, but a small headboard, even a low one, would make the bed more comfortable. The lounge looks great, but none of the furniture is comfortable to use. Only having 2 spoons, knives, forks, and 2 of each item of crockery was awkward at times. The towels in the bathroom are very small. Bigger people would not be able to wrap them around themselves. Ladies might want an extra towel for their hair. I would also say (and we knew this would be the case), but you can hear the pub through the floor, including music and you can hear the hand dryer in the toilets which are below the bedroom. However, it's worth it for the location, and it didn't bother us.

The decor was really beautiful, the bed was really comfortable, the location was perfect, the hosts were really nice and helpful and the apartment was perfectly equipped.

There was nothing not to like.

Absolutely fabulous, the best location in Edinburgh. You will have the time of your life.

Easy communication, fast friendly key pick up, perfect location with fantastic resturants, bars & attractions within easy walking distance. Apartment is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable, exceptionally clean & well equipped for all self catering needs. Covienience store next door for essentials.
