Mix up over bookings. No basic cooking essentials eg oil, salt and pepper

All nice and modern, excellent shower, quiet location, outside space.

beautiful place, calm and peaceful very clean and well equipped cottage

parking a bit tight but no real problem, rear door lock getting more sticky as the week went on.

Great location to Newton Stewart with all the necessary facilities, and too several of the Forest Parks. Kitchen was well equipped. Cottage was very comfortable overall, especially after walking many of the trails during the day. Must visits are Loch Trool and The Southern Upland Way. Lodge is located in very quiet grounds of the Castle. Lovely to walk out at night with Bats flying around the buildings and even had the pleasure of watching an owl in the trees opposite. If you like the outdoors this Lodge and area is where to stay.

Although there was an outside patio to sit it didn't feel private and was over looked on two sides. We also took a dog and although the lodge was perfect there wasn't anywhere for him to run free. Please note though, we were aware of this and knew there was a large area on the doorstep for him to walk on a lead. The overriding benefit for us and other guests, has to be the location, its perfect. This is all personal preference.

The cottage was stunning, everything was clean and comfortable. I had seen the comments about the bed but we slept really well and neither us or the kids had any issues. The views are beautiful and cafes and restaurants are nearby. Would definitely recommend.
