The two flights of stairs. Very noisy.

What a charming place. From the short tunnel to the Ladystairs Close, to the tower staircase leading up to the second floor apartment and the quiet morning street out the window it really felt as though we were experiencing a uniquely Edinburgh visit. R

We are old and we probably shouldn’t be hauling things up and down the stairs but we still wouldn’t have missed the experience of staying at Ladystairs Close.

Location, Location, Location- The apartment is located in the historic area of The Writer's Museum. Loved the proximity to the heart of Edinburgh, Princess Street, Royal Mile, Castle and all cafes and restaurants. The apartment is well equipped with all kitchen equipment, washing machine, tea/ coffee, umbrella (if required), iron, clothes hanger and all basic stay necessaries. Heating is perfect, area is very safe and it was easy to connect with the hosts for any requirements.

Definitely a bit pricey for a home stay. Was not a big fan of the old red decor. The living room should have a carpet to make it a bit more cozier. Would have been nice if the fireplace worked. The upkeep and maintenance of the apartment was perfect, however the building itself is rarely cleaned. Cob webs on the fake plants of the balconies, fallen egg shells and tissues on the stairs were not cleaned through out my 7 day stay.

Location. Heritage building. Sense of history.

Landing and stairs were not clean and a bucket was under a dripping waste pipe.

Location was amazing! Apartment was comfortable.

Well equipped great location

Bed side lights dim for reading by Wobbly tap on bathroom sink Lobby door lock faulty and we were locked in - would have been a scary situation had there been a fire. Staff quickly rescued us and replaced the lock

In the very center of the historical part of Edinburgh, it is very well located. The hosts came very fast when we had to pick up the keys, they were friendly too. The sofa bed was ok. Not as awful as other people have rated it to be.

Beware of the carpeting. It is very old and dusty: if you are allergic as one of us is, beware it is very difficult to sleep on the room. Water pressure in the shower is on the weak side.

Location was very convenient for many of Edinburgh's attractions.

There was a lot of rain but there was nowhere to hang our 3 wet coats.
