Thornes Cottage

Perfect for a couple of nights while we visited local family. The cottage was very clean, homely, and comfortable with nice personal touches too. Checking in was easy with clear instructions left for everything, and it was lovely to have a few treats waiting for our arrival! We’d definitely love to return when we visit our relatives again at some time next year. Thank you!

Property was a little awkward to find, but the host Sam and her husband was available to assist. Sam provided me a earlier check in from 12 noon. Parking is right outside the property which is allocated to the cottage. Property is beautiful and very clean. Welcome note with a bottle of milk, chocolate biscuits and pringles was very thoughtful. This was definitely home from home experience, and the next time I will love to stay here again as this is very local to me visiting my family. There is entertainment e.g. sky TV, reading materials and games. Furniture is top quality and the fixures too. The best welcome folder I have ever seen with very detailed information regarding the property, and surrounding local area. I look forward to coming back!! Thank you 😊

Only criticism that I have is there should be either coat hooks or coat stand on entrance in property. Also the stairs is quite slippery so I suggest stair grips for health and safety reasons. For caution if using the bathroom and you have the window open the neighbour across will be able to see you from a room in their property.

The cottage is very well appointed and situated, rural enough to be peaceful urban enough that everything you could need is local. The private allocated parking is a massive plus. The cottage itself is tastefully furnished and renovated to a very acceptable standard feeling very homely indeed. The little welcome message and gift was a very nice touch indeed (went straight on my social media story). 10/10

Instructions for the induction hob did not include how to remove the child lock but nothing 1 minute on google couldn’t fix and had no impact what so ever on the quality of my stay

Lovely little cottage, perfect for a short break away. Everything you need is there, better equipped than a lot of houses I have stayed at. Having tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc was a huge help as was shampoo, conditioner etc. lovely hosts and excellent communication.

Beautiful location property and spotless

Peaceful setting in the countryside close to family whom we wished to visit. Well equipped living area downstairs - everything seemed new, parking at adjacent property, as indicated. Easy to deal with the heating, so we were very comfortable.

The weather could have been better! The property itself suited our needs perfectly.

Perhaps could use some recycling facilities.

Sam and Adrian were wonderful hosts. They were incredibly helpful with local restaurant and taxi recommendations going out of their way to be of assistance. Their cottage was ideal for two of us for our short stay. Their renovation of the property was thoughtful and to a high standard. The kitchen had everything we could want and it was so nice to be able to sit at the small table outside for our breakfast in the sun.
