The Tree House

It was a very good location with close proximity to public transport for access to city centre and a retail park for food. Nice quiet neighbourhood, very friendly and peaceful. Had no contact with host but messages were friendly and helpful. Good amenities for a short stay had all amenities as listed on description.

Biggest issue with the accommodation was the bathroom, the shower leaked very badly to the point where water was leaking through into the main room. The cleanliness wasn’t great in the accommodation, visible dirt and dust throughout the room. Amenities were not throughly cleaned and had food from previous guests. Towels and bedding seemed old and worn out, with a damp smell. It is not easy to access the accommodation, stairs leading up to the room were old and unstable. Felt unsafe especially as we had luggage to carry up and down. Stairs are very steep and narrow, not great for anyone with mobility issues or lots of luggage.

The host met me as I got out of the taxi, she was so lovely and helpful. I asked if I could have an earlier check-in and that was arranged. Bless her, she carried my bag up the steps to the apartment. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay, xx, Morag

There was nothing to dislike. The steps were a bit steep but that proved more difficult for me because of my age and fitness. I so enjoyed the experience.

Nice and clean with everything you need for cooking.

Good communication from owner, location was good for getting to other places. Also near major shops for supplies. Could be a very nice property. Nice kitchen area with basics. Outside area was a bonus but no BBQ just chimnea.

The stairs to the property were unkempt the bannister moves around. The property was not clean, the oven was dirty, the bath and snd shower screen were dirty, doors pictures and windows were covered in dust and dirt. As were all sockets and doors. I didn’t go round checking there was so much you could see it. The bed uncomfortable on looking this was because the mattress had collapsed. The drawers in the main area were the only place to put items and these were so broken you couldn’t open or close them. The list for items at the property was incorrect. Ie no BBQ or coffee maker. With a good clean and new bed this would be a really good place.

Very clean, great location and good value for money, liked birds nesting, simple to organise access, easy to find. Quirky

Angled ceiling, only 1 side access to bed, no wardrobe, Fan in room would be good idea.

Lovely apartment, clean and just what I needed for working In the area.

The stairs leading to the property were quite steep.

The kitchen area had everything we needed. It was a quiet location.

The access is tricky - the path leading to the outdoor staircase is made awkward by the wooden posts that support the stairs, and the stairs themselves feel quite rickety. Beware an unexpected step at the end of the path before going round the corner to the staircase, easy to miss in the dark. None if this really bother us but could be awkward for anyone less mobile or who has heavy luggage. It would be very helpful if the outside light were left on for new guests. A few coat hooks inside the property would be useful. The bed linen felt well used (perfectly clean, just a bit old) - some new linen would be appreciated on future visits! Some sort of floor lamp or reading light would be very helpful to anyone like me who has some visual impairment! But I'm sure the existing lighting is fine for most people. The location was good for us as it was close to family that we were visiting. Guests without a car might find it a bit far from the city centre, however there is a bus stop only a few minutes walk away. Having said all that, we will definitely book again ad we found it very convenient for our needs.

Stairs to access front door were dangerous and falling apart. Was very scared to actually use them. Kitchen was not clean at all Sink was full of last guest's food Oven wasn't clean - filthy Bed was so uncomfortable, woke up in agony on first night and had to sleep on sofa for remainder of stay.
