Charming Apartment in the Old Town

Beautiful apartment with plenty of character. Comftable bed . The apartment is very clean and has everything you need . We received a Warm welcome from Harry who did mention there There was a blockage in the bathroom sink which got sorted out very quickly on the first day by the hand man The location is great not far from the train station there is a Tesco express very close as well ,great location for exploring the old town is brilliant ,the grassmarket area is close which is amazing plenty of bars and the terrace eating out areas is lovely,same with the royal Mile there is lots to see and do ,we felt with the location we didn't need to use the hop on hop off bus . Holyrood park is a very beautiful area as well

I expect some noise from reviews and where the apartment is located. However there was extreme noise especially the first night coming from the back and the front . We had to shut the bedroom window which we had opened due to humidity. But we managed to sleep afterwards I think there had been like a summer uni ball at the nightclub ( I think that's what it is) behind the apartment. There are lots of student bars across the road and a popular one on the same street . So there is a lot of noise from them coming and going up the passage way very late which you do hear in the front. I do get up a lot in the night so be why I heard it .

Great communication with the host, place was larger than I thought and the location was fabulous.

This is such a cozy little apartment, and we absolutely loved our stay here. It was great for us traveling for the first time with our 11 month-old baby (which made the washing machine a necessity). I was there for a work event at the university, which is just a few minutes’ walk away. The location on a little side alley without cars is great, even if it is at night a major route between the high bridge level and the bars under the bridge. The kitchen is really nice with a nice new sink, and the living/dining room is cozy with a very comfortable gorgeous blue sofa. And the host, Linda, sent us some really nice video messages to welcome us and give us the info we needed about the place.

The plumbing is very.. British. There are separate hot and cold taps (why?!) on the bathroom sink, and the hot one was leaking a lot. The shower has a separate heater thing, but operates decently only in eco mode where the water is a slow but at least fairly warm trickle. Turning it to high power resulted in short cycles of scalding and frigid water. The shower curtain also seemed to be growing things. The bed has the kind of spring mattress where you can feel each individual spring, and they somehow seem to get more aggressive as the night goes on.

property was surprisingly spacious. good location for bars and restaurants etc and not far to walk into the city. actually a nice walk!

if you have to use the front room for a guest it’s very noisy with passing people until into the early morning. so perfect if your planning on being out until late not so great if your using the area for children and planning on a quiet night in.
