Umbrella Properties Private Apartment Birmingham

Honestly was a little skeptical at first because it is located in someone’s garden. However there was a private entrance, the apartment was sound proof and it was self check in so absolutely no hassle. It was clean and cosy and we had everything we needed for a few nights stay. Kitchen was stocked with milk and bits and bobs: Had a fridge freezer, oven, microwave, stove ect and everything worked perfectly. Bathroom was lovely. Bed was extremely comfortable me and my partner slept amazingly both nights. There’s a tv, lounger, table and chairs honestly was such value for the price. Will definitely stay again considering it’s affordable and homely. If you’re looking to get to Birmingham centre it’s about 20 mins drive but there is a train station in walking distance (Northfield). And for a couple of quid you can get to new street easily.

The room was perfect for me. It had everything you could need for an overnight stay: a very comfortable bed, ample electric sockets, a desk and soft comfortable chairs, free wifi, an extremely well-equipped kitchen area, a powerful and very spacious shower. And as it was a stand-alone property in the garden it was very quiet and I didn’t have to worry about disturbing anyone else when I arrived well after midnight. The location was very convenient for me too. Free street parking was an important bonus. I will definitely be back!

Not as advertised, no playstation, no cleaning products, not like the pictures at all, is very run down and not clean at all other than the towels and bedding. Had to wipe down all surfaces including inside and outside of cupboards and walls which had old food and tea and coffee stains. Did message to discuss this and never got a reply

I tried to contact the owners by email, phone and text. I got no reply therefore the people staying had to put up with slugs in the kitchen and mosquitoes. If only this could have been resolved, I would have been much happier with the accommodation. Also the bed was too high for the lady with a disability

It’s easy to check in with the lock outside the door. I really liked that it is self contained so didn’t need to speak to anyone. Love how it has all that you need for a short stay (one or two nights) including Netflix! Local and very handy Tesco extra as I forgot Nutella to go with my breakfast, so just had a little walk there. Nice little welcome booklet with key info in it. The shower was powerful and clean. Good value for money for what it is.

Firstly and most importantly there was NO smoke alarm in the property which I thought would be a standard safety procedure and is dangerous without one!!!!! When I first arrived there was a distinct smell of weed in the room (whether people smoking it nearby… or in the room from before as there was no smoke alarm in there!!) It needs a bit of updating and the space could be utilised better to include a wardrobe to hang clothes in. It had a small random rail but no way tall enough to hang trousers on. The door blind was stuck on with tape. The furniture like the sofa is rickety, old and not comfortable. The front door and windows were a little stiff to open and close. Could do with a deep clean as some hairs on the floor, a bit dusty in places and really sticky counter tops… but wasn’t dirty to be able to stay for the night.
