Location was amazing! The building itself is very cool and historical. The apartment was gorgeous. Really spacious - could do with a deep clean (especially kitchen utensils etc)

Kitchen utensils a bit sparse. If I was to book again which I might as it’s such a gorgeous place, I’d bring my own things for cooking (which is pretty standard anyway to ensure you have everything you need). And also bring some bubble bath/ bath stuff to enjoy the freestanding bath as we’d been walking and this would have been the perfect relaxing end to a day!

The metropole is afabtastic building, and great location, short walk down the cliff to the beach, and exceptional sea views!

It really needs a proper clean and refresh. On the mazzenine part of the apartment, where the 3rd bedroom and bathroom are located, on the first evening weve noticed some bugs, which only grew in numbers making this bedrom not usable, do we were overcrowded downstairs. Not a bug expert, but their appeared to be carpet beetles. We informed the host and stay who replied with an ai generated standard message that they will look into it and send maintainance team, but obviously nothing happened, and next guests were in straight after us. Real shame as otherwise spacious and the views are great . Its a shame as otherwise

Absolutely beautiful would stay here time and time again excellent location owner very friendly and extremely helpful i would and will be recommending this to my friends and family.

Freezing when arrived and took nearly a day to warm up Issue raised with Host & Stay after building management highlighted toilet was emptying directly out onto exterior scaffolding as no sluice pipe connected. This meant we couldn’t use the toilet or shower during our stay. This was unacceptable and the owner must have been aware prior to our arrival.

The location, the views, the amount of space the accommodation had. Lovely at first glance.

Lovely at first glance however needed a BIG deep clean! It had a really old with a smell, all the carpets are stained, wallpaper peeling off the walls, there was so many little things can could be quickly upgraded/ fixed! Old rusty draining board, old scratched washing up bowl, crumbs under the tele table, all of the window ledges had insects and needed a good clean! The kitchen worktop is dirty and full of stains, the bins weren’t emptied when we arrived! The ottoman in the dining room was fully peeling with games and crumbs stuffed down the back, not to mention more… such as old damp worktop around the sink, The place needed a big clean and a re fresh and would be so much better!

Superb location with amazing views. Iconic building, once one of Whitbys finest hotels. Comfortable and extremely spacious.

In short, it's tired. Peeling wallpaper, broken doors on kitchen cabinets, once state of the art led lighting now largely not working. Downstairs bathroom smelled of damp throughout stay even though we kept window open. Missing or broken kitchen utensils ( only one spatula and the handle was broken off, no oven gloves at all). We were not given enough parking permits to cover the duration of our stay. I assumed this was an oversight and it was sorted for me by Charlie of Host and Stay ( whose communication was excellent) after I queried it a few times. But I'm disappointed to have just checked back through other people's reviews and seen that this is a regular occurrence. No terrestrial TV service. Lift in building was out of order for most of our stay and it seems this happens regularly so avoid if anyone in your group can't manage lots of stairs.

Views were amazing. Quieter side of whitby.

The first impression of outside, scaffolding, rubbish laying about. Could have been cleaner. Repairs in kitchen and walls needed.

The location was very good with beautiful sea views. The apartment was spacious.

The cleanliness was a major issue and there was damage in several rooms. The showers did not work properly and the bathrooms were not clean. There was food debris beneath the sofa seat cushions.
