Woodsmill Quay Apartments

It was a very convenient location. A nice cleam comfortable apartment. It was our first visit to York. We would stay there again .

Photos and price led me to believe it would have a river view ( I’m sure in the small print it would have said otherwise )

A very well appointed flat with all necessary facilities, fabulous location and accommodating hosts. We were also allowed an early bag drop to avoid finding storage options. The location is absolutely unbeatable. Note carefully the instructions for hot water for ease of use and observe the view is not over the river Ouse as clearly stated. All in all, absolutely would visit again without hesitation

The shower was very slippery- a mat is required as seniors found this very challenging Hand soap would have been a good idea

Good location, clean, owner was very kind and gracious about us misreading checkout as 11 instead of 10!

Felt a bit disrespected as a guest- rationed to 1 dishwashing tablet, 1 washing machine capsule and 3 rolls of toilet paper (for 4 ppl for 3 days, including little children). Extra toilet paper at least needs to be available. Shower drain is slow so shower time was also restricted- I had to turn it off halfway through, stand there in the cold and wait for the water to drain before I could finish my shower. Otherwise bathroom would flood. No hot water in kitchen. There’s an emphasis on leaving kitchen items clean but guests need either hot water or dishwashing tablets to do so. All the doors are heavy fire doors and close automatically so not ideal for having little kids where doors need to stay open. Beds and pillows fairly old and uncomfortable.

Beds were lovely and comfy, living room was really good and the view we thought was nice, you could see all the really old tops of buildings. Really good area in terms of proximity to everything, was a quick 11 minute walk to the train station, and then to get to everywhere in the town around a 5 to 15 minute walk to get to everything we wanted to. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the free tea and coffee was a nice addition.

The television is very outdated, if we didn't get back in till late (9/10pm) we had nothing to watch as it's just your basic 20 or so channels. A fire stick would have been ideal. Also the WiFi wasn't that great, lagged a lot towards the latter end of the night
