Daiches Braes Brunstane Portobello

Easy to reach by train from city centre, studio contains everthing you need, complete and clean, and kind and helpful hostess. Quiet location, nice walk to the sea.

This lengthy stay allowed for visiting Edinburgh and planning the launch of my long-term travel. The apartment is a great, clean place for a solo traveler and delightfully decorated. It looked just like the images. In addition to pots/pans, the kitchen was outfitted with flatware, dishes, glassware, cooking and utensils and other very useful items like a corkscrew and scissors. Even in winter, the apartment was warm and the electric fire helped as needed. Wifi strength and connectivity was excellent. The distance to the Brunstane train platform was a short walk. There was an Asda superstore for groceries/ready-made foods, pharmacy, household/clothing and more about 10-12 minute walk away and Trish provided shopping bags to use. In addition to easy access into Edinburgh city, the Portobello high street and promenade was a 20 minute walk away and worth visiting. Trish was a very helpful host, asking how everything was going.

The property had everything you needed in a self-contained contained unit. It is a short walk to the train station to get a train into Edinburgh, although the trains don't run as frequently on a Sunday the buses were good too.

The property was very cluttered, lots of furniture and knick knacks so not a lot of usable space for our luggage. The online facilities listed a clothes dryer, and although there wasn't one the host did offer for us to use hers. The bed was pushed up against a wall so it's difficult for one person to get in and out.

Property had all the facilities you would need. Trish was a great host.

Location was a bit far from Edinburgh. There is not much to do in Brunstane. Operation of TV & shower was a bit quirky for travellers. Bedding use by date is nearly up.

Brilliant wee studio flat and host (Trish) was very accommodating. Well set out and brilliant location for getting into the city. If I come back to Edinburgh for work I’ll definitely stay again

It was a wonderful place to stay. Trish was so very helpful. So comfortable and just what we were hoping for. Not far to walk to public transport, which takes you straight into Edinburgh City centre. We would definitely recommend Daiches Braes and come back again. Just perfect 👌

There wasn't anything I didn't like. It was just lovely.
