Chic one bed apartment- City Living in converted Cocoa Warehouse York PARKING

Parking. I telephoned a few days before to ask about blue badge parking. I had looked on Google street view, saw blue badge parking bays but unable to read notice giving terms. We are both blue badge holders and a parking space on top floor of multi storey car park without a lift made our stay extremely difficult. Parking should be explained before booking. Charge for cleaner is excessive and should be stated on booking.com prior to booking. Bath very slow on emptying and terrible smell from hand basin plug hole. Needed to use torch on mobile to read oven settings as lighting very poor. No instructions for oven. Previous occupant left television on internet and no instructions on how to get back to TV. Not everyone is technically savvy.

The apartment was more than we was expecting, spacious , good parking, 5 minutes walk from centre. Definitely stop here again

My friend and I were celebrating our 60th birthdays after I had arrived from Australia. We lost the first evening of our two night break due to the following: It took hours and advice off a passing police officer to find the property with the very poor directions given by the management company. We ended up parking in a multi storey car park and carrying all our luggage across a fire escape at the rear of the property. A long way! The keys and parking permit were inside the property which needed a key fob to access, we hadn’t been given one. We had to wait for someone else to open the main door to let us into the building. The apartment keys were in a lock box which was high on the door frame in a very dimly lit corridor. It was not easy to open without the torch on my phone. The parking instructions were not adequate, ended up getting locked in an area within the car park, in the dark, when the car park fob would not let us out. Got rescued by a passerby going to their car. Exiting the car park on foot, down numerous flights of stairs, back up them the next day. This would be a nightmare for guests with mobility impairments. I specifically asked for the sofa bed to be made up. It was not made up and it took ages to find the bedding in a boiler room! Had to make up the bed myself. Spoke to several guests and they had a meet n greet or photographic directions provided. They all had been given a main door key fob. A different management company was used by these guests. I complained to the management company and they weren’t interested at all. It’s a shame as the apartment itself was lovely, other than an uncomfortable sofa bed.

Great location, clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds.

The parking situation is tricky. Having to park somewhere outside first, then going inside to get the keys and permits, then back out to re-park the car. We were then put on the top floor of the car park with no lift, so not great with bad knees like mine. Our space also had loads of broken glass in it.

The Location was great, just a ten minute walk, and you were in The Shambles

Nothing to not like

The location was great, easy to get to the city centre and main attractions. The apartment had everything we needed for a short stay. We were pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was.

We visited in the summer and the apartment was very very warm, fans were provided but it was hard to cool the place down. A deposit is needed after booking and paying up front, it is noted on the listing but in very small print, it would be great if this could be clearer as I have never had to do this before on booking.com

Broken kettle reported but no response from host. Directions for arrival by train & on foot should be provided as Google maps took us on a walkway along the river

Excellent location. Comfortable and clean apartment also very peaceful area for a good night's sleep. Highly recommend

Good quality bed only it was a bit soft for my liking
