Castle Properties: The Duchess, 3 Bed Family cottage

The property was in a terrific location to access the castle. Whilst there was no parking it was easy to unload our stuff outside. It was comfortable and the owners were extremely pleasant during our interactions.

I think it could have been cleaner. There were a lot of ladybirds inside one of the windows but they didn’t bother us.

No parking. Kitchen was a bit cramped for 6 adults.

Amazing location in the middle of Windsor. Loved the period features but with all the modern appliances.

Property was in great location for Windsor Castle and the shops and restaurants. Received brilliant material from Castle Properties up front on how to get there , facilities etc and continued to be very attentive throughout our stay to ensure everything was to our satisfaction

The location was great

It wasn't very clean, there were crumbs in the kitchen and stains on cushions and bathroom doors. There were wet bedsheets in the washing machine and the the fan was too dusty to use. The blinds fell down when we tried to roll it down in one of the bedrooms. We raised these issues by messaging the property via booking.com and directly via their email but were completely ignored. They didn't even advise us what to do with the wet laundry in the washing machine so we didn't end up using the washing machine because we didn't know if it was broken or not.

Very close to Windsor Castle. Bed in lounge was a pullout sprung bed and not a cheap one on the floor, excellent. Having 3 toilets was wonderful. Loved the history and quaintness of the house, and the fact that a wonderful hymn was written in the top room 200yrs ago. We used to sing it in High School.

It said Parking available when you first search, but it was several blocks away… not good for elderly people. Very steep Stairs for elderly. Children loved them. Kitchen had some faulty bulbs, one flickered constantly irritatingly. Four bulbs above sink did not work at all, with any of the switches. Cookware and cooking utensils were sparse - which made it difficult to cook for allergy sufferers. Range Hood didnt open nor work, causing the fire alarm to go off because we couldn’t get rid of cooking steam/smoke, without the front door open. No instructions for oven, so Rang Tim to get oven started and he was excellent to provide a walk through. The racks in dishwasher are broken and need repair with wire so that plates can stand up, and not collapse in a heap. We did a temporary fix with wet wipes tied together to hold the racks in place so we could stack the dishwasher. No hand soap provided in kitchen, nor towels for hands, and no dishwashing soap to clean pots. Didnt like seeing the fat Windsor rats climbing into the bins across the street from our breakfast table. But that is Windsor City’s problem… a shame to see active rats coming and going in that beautiful historic city.
