The Keep

Great location.

The Keep is finished to a very high standard and is conveniently placed in the centre of Ludlow. The staff, who are located in The Old Bakehouse, were very friendly and accommodating. The unusual second bedroom, described elsewhere as Hobbit sized, was loved by the children. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast, as part of our package, but were surprised that it wasn't available until 10 am as it was served in The Old Bakehouse, which didn't open until then. This wasn't a problem for us.

Great central location. Comfy apartment. Comfy bed, clean bed linen. Car park next door. Overall a nice little apartment.

Ok I’m being picky but the washing up sponge looked about a year old, anywhere else I’ve stayed there’s always a new one, no tea towel. No de-caf coffee sachets. I can’t say it wasn’t clean because overall it wasn’t bad but there were a few hairs left in the shower/bath & quite a few cobwebs throughout the apartment. But saying that I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to stay again it just needs a bit of a spruce up.

Really pretty little apartment. We were in apartment 2 with a lovely double bedroom and a separate double bed in a tiny room on the other side of the bathroom. Central location, pretty balcony.

Where do I begin? 1. No response to any queries in advance. 2. There is no parking despite it saying so on Booking.com - it’s pay parking in a local car park. This should be made clear on the site. 3. Like others I booked the double room with extra double bed and breakfast and I had paid in advance but was repeatedly asked to pay for items I had already paid for A) I was asked for full payment on arrival - I had already paid in full and had to explain B) On realising that we could not access the area with the second double bed, I was told it would cost an extra £35 and had to explain that I had paid for the room with 2 beds C) After breakfast I was brought the bill and again had to explain that I had already paid for breakfast in the rate. How can it be that hard?? Check out was 10am - if we wanted to check out a little later (rather than dragging luggage down for breakfast which only started at 9:30am) we would have had to pay an extra £10! At 8am in the morning it sounded like we were in a venue hall - staff yelling and dragging chairs and tables around. Seriously not relaxing and no effort at all to keep quiet. Sound proofing needed.

Fab location, right in the heart of Ludlow behind a cute square. Good size apartment, nice features, brifht, airy and clean. Nice little roof terrace.

It was lovely and light in the day, due to many windows but the curtains let tons of light in, so it was also very bright at dawn which woke us up. There's also not much sound proofing (which can't be helped) So, if youre a light sleeper, until they invest in some blackout curtains, I'd suggest a sleep mask. And maybe ear plugs. Still a gem of an apartment though. I would stay there again.

Location couldn't be better. Everything needed was provided BUT (see below) there isn't a kitchen. It is very close indeed to several restaurants, in fact is owned and managed by The Old Bakehouse which is on the ground floor. I ate there the first evening, took a glass of wine up to the apartment. The second evening was a wonderful pizza from SourcedPizza, also incredibly close, with a baked labneh cheesecake to die for!

There are quite a lot of stairs to climb, it's effectively on the second floor. There is another apartment on the floor below, I have to say that noise does travel up a bit. There are no plates or cutlery, a bit of a nuisance since people are likely to bring takeaways back but not a major problem to me. I only watched one TV programme; the TV is placed for watching while sitting on the bed which I find very odd - I moved a dining chair and a bedside cabinet to be in front of the TV. But really, there was nothing major that I didn't like, it's a lovely apartment!

Easy to get keys from staff in the restaurant. Location is fab, very central. Lots of space, very comfy.
