A bit of squeaks on the topmost floor

Prior to our stay, Dave the owner emailed all the information, the key code, etc. and gave his telephone number if any problems. The house was lovely and warm when we arrived and clean and tidy. Plenty of room in the living area, open plan kitchen, dining area and sofas, and the the bedrooms were comfy. The owner had left everything needed for our stay. We had dreadful weather (wet, cold and windy) when we were there, so it was a big bonus having a warm and comfortable house to stay in.

Had everything we needed, was comfortable. Garden was nice and great for the dogs, location was good there is a little country park just down the road. Owner was extremely helpful.

The instructions for finding and accessing the property were very detailed and accurate. Dave, the host, is very responsive and easy to communicate with. Big parking space outside and lots of space in the house. Very nice and bright living/dining room going into an open kitchen and opening onto a wooden patio. There is a big Smart TV in the lunge. Kitchen was well equipped, including washing machine. Comfortable beds with blinds in every bedroom. The bathroom upstairs was nice and clean.

The house is spread out over 3 floors. The downstairs only has a bathroom and doors to the garage and doesn’t smell too inviting. Also, the lock in the downstairs bathroom is still broken. The bathroom itself needs some care. I’ve read about it in a review from 2 years ago and the issue hasn’t been fixed. We have informed Dave about it. The stairs and top floor are very creaky and noisy. The walls in the staircase really need renovation. The double bedroom and one of the singles face the street, which is surprisingly loud, as there is a lot of traffic from the earliest hours until late at night. Sleeping with windows open was a challenge. Some of the equipment in the kitchen should be changed, it has seen better days. The wooden patio and garden are not very inviting to hang around. The banister is quite dangerous because it is very loose. The rubbish at the side of the house is quite disgusting. With a little bit of effort and some garden furniture on the patio this could be a very nice addition to the house.
