Derwent View Holiday Apartments

It was nice and close to the town and such a lovely apartment.

Great facilities in apartment aswell as added benefit of shared facilities if needed with washer and dryer. Loved the welcome package of tea etc.

Not really something easy rectified but parking slightly tricky and would be difficult getting out if all allocated spaces at front occupied.

Found the general furniture and fittings of a high standard. In particular, a large double bed with really nice linen. We had everything we needed for our comfort and dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid and drying up cloths had been thoughtfully provided. It is quiet, and in a very central position in Matlock Bath, - just a short walk to the local railway station (which also has parking). We enjoyed the use of Netflix. (Our own account obviously) .

The parking was very difficult. There are meant to be 3 spaces and you have to use what has been designated for your flat: this is explained in a diagram which however you only receive the day before you get there. As we were travelling for 3 days from France and I received it on my mobile phone, I had not even noticed the diagram, and was not aware of how really tight the parking is. We needed to do multiple-point turns to get into 'our' place, which was probably the most difficult anyway, and entailed reversing in from the main road, shifting awkwardly back and forth trying to get up on the kerb of the house frontage without hitting the front door pillar, the wall, the dustbin, or any other cars. There were only ever two cars there, but honestly don't know how three can get in without damage - but the flat guardians assure me it's been done for years, so it must just be me.... Said that, I was grateful to have a parking place because other parking isn't really convenient for unlimited hours, and we also arrived just as the Illuminations kicked off which is always a nightmare in Matlock Bath ( for traffic and parking).

Great location, lovely and clean and well equipped.

The parking on the description was unclear. You can only book parking with certain apartments, this is NOT explained. However you can park on the street for free over night from 6pm to 8am if you want to get up early. We chose & paid to park at the station car park for £7.50 approx for 24hrs the car park has cameras and it’s only a 3 min walk away.

Lovely and clean... nice size for a couple for the weekend...
