It became clear the morning after we arrived that the property had a faulty fire alarm panel that, according to the residents, regularly went into alarm mode. Despite the alarm sounding in the building that morning the residents have got so used to the regularity of the alarm sounding off that they never respond. Clearly this is an entirely unsafe situation. I reported this to Viking who assured me the building owners were informed straightaway. Hopefully the issue has since been rectified. I did not feel safe at all during my stay despite Viking's quick response and reassurance, its location and other attributes.

Great location. 10 mins walk to York minster

Private parking is handy though it is a little tight to get into the space, but that isn't the fault of the owners, more the developers. Despite being an apartment block, very little noise came from other properties

Feel the quality of beds and furnishings was a bit basic for the price. It lacked homely touches like place mats, bedside lamps etc, and the bedroom with ensuite is set up with 3 singles - luckily, I have been married long enough not to mind separate beds! Did have to use the double bedroom as a dressing room though as part of the wardrobe was locked so there was not enough space for 2 people's belongings in the 3 bedded room and no other furniture in the bedroom. The carpets were a little stained in places, so could do with a refresh.

Location from York City Centre was good. Also good internal parking behind security fence, also a lot of security in the building (cameras etc). Decent sized and clean apartment.

The door handle broke meaning we were trapped inside the flat until someone came out to fix this (apparently this is a common problem for the apartments in this block) - quite concerning, in case of an emergency etc. Some of the furnishings broken (eg another internal door handle) or a bit tired e.g. couch has seen better days, mixed up plates and cutlery. Block is next to a coop where deliveries arrive at 7am each morning so there is some noise. The immediate area is a little run down.

Convenient

No dressing table in bedrooms Stagnant water left in coffee machine & kettle. I never used any kitchen utensils, took my own kettle & cups .Hand soap bottle left empty in bathroom . Just a couple of improvements could be made . Car parking spaces very tight .

The location was great. It was very clean and beautifully set up.

It was very noisy with co-op deliveries waking us up before 7.30 on both mornings.
