Sandy Retreat

Location. Parking. Host friendly and communicative.

The accommodation was clean, everything was nicely presented. Parking was good near to the beach. There was also a bus which you could use to go into Weston-super-Mare.

It would have been nice to have a couple of easy chairs for watching TV and relaxing for the over 80s.

I timed less than 3 minutes from door to sandy beach! It's wonderful. The property is spotless and everything is top quality. If you want a blank hotel, do not stay here because the property is clearly loved and cared for. It's like staying at your lovely aunt's place. Arrival milk, tea, coffee is thoughtful and everything we needed was in the kitchenette. Parking outside on the driveway was very easy. The nearby road is not at all busy. The whole area is peaceful but not isolated. There is a coastal bus if you need to go to Weston-super-Mare. Neighbours were all smiley and the man selling ice cream very near was welcoming, too. Sand Bay is quiet and we spent lots of time on the gorgeous sand beach. Buckets and spades are required!

The dining chairs are the only chairs. So we sat on the beds to read and watch TV. It isn't a big problem at all though because we were out and about most of the time.

- really didn't like that it isn't mentioned the owners clearly live in what was the kitchen diner (they've converted another room into a kitchenette) and they can access the house through an internal door that you can't lock from your side. Felt very intrusive - especially as the property is advertised as a detached by bungalow implying you have space to yourself. - no lounge or sofas. - no contact from host about how to access the property. Didn't provide info, answer message or answer phone. Eventually spoke to them two hours before check in.

I loved how clean everything was. Everything we needed was there for when we arrived. It was easy to contact our hosts to confirm our expected arrival time. The beds were extremely comfortable, so comfortable I didn't want to get out of the bed. There are two smart TVs, one in each bedroom and a good signal for WiFi and your phone or tablets. There is tea, milk, sugar and coffee there for when you arrive. The location is just yards from the sea with such beautiful surrounding views. I would recommend Sandy Retreat to anyone wanting home from home comforts. I didn't take pictures of all the accommodation just a few so they may not match the headings of which part of the accommodation the picture was taken .

I didn't like the fact we only booked for one night, we should have booked for longer .

The location was nice next to beach

Windows don't open they are locked closed back ones bolted closed if there was fire or emergency, there would be no way out, Christian alter in the back, motor bikes racing up and down road most of the night

Booked and paid 3 months ago, was told night before that I had no booking despite property owners knowing my name and stay. Still waiting for a refund as booking reckon they have not heard from owners. Everybody lying about situation and still not had refund.
