Host & Stay - Princess Place Townhouse

Good location. Quiet

This property is NOT AN APARTMENT ! It lacks cooking facilities other than a microwave, toaster, and kettle. Also no laundry. Very low ceiling, which the information should make very clear. Less than 2.0m high. Anyone tall would find this property unworkable. I can not understand why English showers are so complicated. And the water was barely warm enough on the hottest setting

The location was excellent. The rooms were a good size. Bedding was clean.

There was a bad damp problem. The downstairs smelled horrendous. The carpets were unclean and there was no hoover avaliable to clean it ourselves. As a result I had a terrible allergic reaction which caused my eye to swell shut and my asthma was triggered. My baby developed a cough and has difficulty breathing. After going out for the day we began to feel better, but as soon as we returned to the house the allergic reaction began to get worse again. Therefore we had to leave after 1 night despite booking for 3. An expensive mistake and ruined getaway.

Location. Great to be so close to everything but yet nice and quiet.

This place is cheap and cheerful, missing some of the items you expect for self catering accommodation. No forks other than 2 takeaway wooden, no teaspoons, no tea towel. Really just lacking some basics we tend to normally find in these stays such as hand wash. Not a problem if you know not to expect it. Bed uncomfortable but as we've stayed before we took a good quality mattress topper this time and this did the trick for a good night's sleep.

Fantastic location .. spotlessly clean.. well equipped.. very very comfy beds .. and even a parking space on the doorstep …

Needs a detailed information sheet printing out and leaving in the cottage … Tea coffee milk bread butter would be a nice addition for when you arrive .. ( Heating , tv , instructions etc ) Info/ instructions sheet ..

Perfect location, close to town centre. Spacious. Good parking space (although a little tight - definitely recommend reversing up the road).

Strong smell of damp and dogs (we understand it's a dog friendly property but we've owned dogs ourselves and it didn't take much to keep our home smelling fresh). Furniture/beds felt damp. Carpets covered in hairs and the whole flooring wasn't cleaned sufficiently. Mops looked dirty and no hoover available. Be aware that the seagulls are very loud from around 5am (we know this isn't anyone's fault but it's worth noting)

The property is in a fantastic location and has great character,

but unfortunately the cleanliness was well below the standard expected. From arrival, there was an overpowering wet dog smell that lingered throughout the stay despite our efforts to mask it. The sofa had a strong odour and was covered in dog hair, there was mould visible in the freezer, and the bedding on the double bed was stained (though replaced promptly when reported). Having since read other reviews mentioning similar issues with cleanliness and odour, it is disappointing to see these problems have not yet been addressed.
