Withnell Stays - Apartment Six

The property was conveniently placed very near the south side of the beach, and it was conveniently close to Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort. It provides plenty of places for a large family to rest, two double beds and two sofa beds. Overall it was pretty clean and usable.

Apartment 6 is on the 2nd floor and the stairs to get to it are narrow, so if you have heavy luggage just be ready for a lot of climbing and awkward positioning to get your luggage there. The outside had a sewage mouldy sewage smell that was there for the entire duration of the stay. I requested a cot and was told it was be put out for us to find, but it was not. I had to look around for about an hour and found it hidden inside the boiler cabinet. Speaking of the boiler, it is fully electric so you will not get instant hot water and will have to wait for it to get up to temperature, and if you run out of hot water you have to leave it for the boiler to catch up for about 30 minutes. For a large family, this is very inconvenient. There are only two fans provided, one in each bedroom and they were all pretty terrible being the fake Dyson bladeless fans. The 2nd bedroom, the one with the carpet, had two divots near the entrance to the room under the carpet caused by missing wooden slats underneath. We nearly tripped a few times because of this so it is a tripping hazard and should be sorted out. The bathroom had no shower gels or shampoo like it advertised, so luckily we brought our own but still if it is not available please don’t put it in the listing. And also please install ceiling fans in each room, and especially install one in the living room as the people sleeping on the sofa beds were very uncomfortable with the heat at the time. The Bookings.com mentioned coffee and tea maker was available but this is not the case, there is no coffee, you only get a pot of sugar and a pot of tea bags. Not even some UHT milk capsules for the tea. There was also mention of a game room, but the game room is really a corner of the living room with a Street Fighter 2 arcade style cabinet there. I was thinking there would consoles but that’s all you get. Parking is around the back and along a narrow alleyway.

The apartment was clean and tidy, some of the plates were not cleaned properly but it only too 2 seconds to sort that. Locastion was great - right next to pleasure beach and water park which is what we were there for so not alot of walking around to get back

The beds were not comfortable at all. One bed was only the base and mattress on the floor with no legs. No enough pillows
