Lovely studio apartment located in Birmingham

Only 15 minutes walk into Moseley, comfortable apartment, comfortable bed, decent shower, small kitchen to make breakfast. Easy self check in and we were kindly allowed early check in, which was very much appreciated. Easy and good communication

Nothing really, other than a tea towel and a bit more cutlery would be useful

Very clean and tidy with a fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of space. Decent sized shower.

Could do with some tea or coffee / long life milk in the room. Bit pointless having a fridge freezer running all the time if it is being used for let's of a day / couple of days.

Easy to find with on street parking. This little studio is lovely and almost perfect. It is suited to a single person, a couple or even a small family if a child doesn't mind sleeping on the floor or you have a travel cot. It was clean and tidy but there are a few little issues which stopped me giving it a 10: Carpets were a little marked and dirty Towels were provided and although clean, fluffy and soft they didn't match the decor of the rest of the place. No shelf in the shower and the shower head wasn't very powerful and leaked. No tea towel in the kitchen Otherwise a lovely little location and I would happily come back. Just be aware that this is a city location near to main roads and a Saturday night isn't quiet.

On my arrival, I did not know how to get into the property as I did not have prior information. I telephoned the phone number I had on my email confirmation but it was permanently engaged and I became concerned as I was alone no way way of knowing how to get into he property. I noted what appeared to be a code on the email from Booking.com and I tried all the boxes but none would open. I tried again to phone but still engaged tone. Finally I pressed the buzzer of the various apartments to see who would answer and a young lady at No:1 came to the door. I explained my situation. She tried to assist me by trying to open 2 separate boxes which she thought one of them might be my apartment. Neither box opened. She asked me if I had a contact phone number for the landlord and I showed it to her and she said the number was correct. I tried calling the number again, while she was there and the number was still engaged. She had the same number and she tried it herself on her phone and the landlord answered right away!!! When he answered she referred to him by his name and said, "Hi, it's Lorna. There's a lady who's outside waiting to get into one of the apartments". He spoke to her momentarily then she handed her phone over to me saying, "He wants to talk to you". (When I spoke to him, he claimed that he had sent me a code number and I told him that I did not receive any text from him or any explanation what to do on arrival, nor do I know which apartment I am to go into). He then told me the apartment number and the code to open the box containing two keys; one for the front door of the property and one for my apartment). That first 7 minutes or so, was quite stressful as I did not know what to do. Had the young lady called Lorna, not been there, I don't know what would have happened. There were CCTVs outside the door (& inside I later noted). The landlord would have noted arrival and, departure or customers!

Full information/instruction prior to arrival, giving the apartment Number and, the code and how to get in, was not available. In the absence of these information, it is reasonable for a customer to assume/expect there would be someone at the apartment to let you in. Also, explain to customers that parking is on the street (wherever you can find space on a first come basis). Listing the apartment as having FREE parking leads one to believe that the property has its own parking! There was an obvious stained mark on the yellow arm chair, making it look dirty & uncleaned. I noted that there was a big wall mounted TV which I was pleased to see, as I do like to be able to catch up on News or watch TV to wind down from my day. Unfortunately, the TV would not turn on either by Remote control or manually. I texted the landlord to ask him if the TV actually works? I explained that it was not switching on and I have tried the Remote several times. I did not get a response. Approximately, 15 minutes after I had checked out the following morning, I received a text from the landlord saying; "Hey sorry I just realised you messaged last night, yes the remote does work for that television."

The bedding wasn’t fresh and had clearly been slept in by others previous to our stay which I found to be disgusting
