The Little Studio- Self contained one bed studio flat

Location. Quiet at night.

The look of the property was shabby - front door could do with replacing - worn and chipped wood. Were given code to front door, which was fine in the daylight, but when we returned later in the evening, without a torch/flashlight on phone, we couldn't see to key in the code, as the light over the door didn't come on (or so we thought). However, when we managed to get in, the light was activated from the inside (why not the outside also)? TV did not work. Towel hanging on back of door from previous occupant. The "crockery" consisted of one bowl, two small plates and one large plate. Cutlery - 2 knives and two forks - no spoons at all.

Too cramped

Die Schlüsselübergabe war einfach und hat gut funktioniert.

Als wir kamen, war das Zimmer noch nicht gereinigt. Wir hatten dann den Gastgeber angerufen, der dann jemanden schickte um das Zimmer zu reinigen. Die Bettbezüge und Handtücher waren zwar ausgetauscht worden, waren aber dennoch vergilbt und dreckig. Die Matratze war sehr durchgelegen.

The room was quite warm the whole time, and mostly quiet too. The microwave and shower were nice, and the fridge was handy too. The TV was close to the bed so it was easy to see. The wifi was fast and reliable. There were no stairs, and the house/street is very close to the railway station, and not very far from Oxford's main attractions and shops. Everything was perfectly clean. Bedside lamps were handy. I also liked the dark blue curtains which cut the light out very well.

The room was very small, with hardly room to walk around the bed with your case, or even open it anywhere. The TV has no aerial, so relies on wifi, which won't connect, so I had to use my PC the whole time to watch TV thus occupying my PC so I couldn't do anything else on it. This in turn involves lots of cables and makes using the kettle inconvenient too. The wifi code was slightly wrong too, so on my arrival after a long journey, I had the code to figure out and the TV to fiddle about with. The neighbours upstairs were pretty noisy, probably due to lack of carpet up there. The fridge also hummed frequently during the night, right next to the bed. At this time, until August 2026, the end of the street is like a building site, so makes arrival/departure with cases somewhat awkward, especially at night when we arrived. Getting the keys out of the lockbox in the dark shouldn't be like doing a Crystal Maze puzzle.

Convenient location, close to the station and easy to walk into the city centre. Hosts were responsive and check-in process was easy. The room was fairly comfortable and had basic amenities required.

The room is very small and it would not be possible to travel with large luggage as there was no floor space. It is one of several rooms in the property, and the soundproofing is average -- however it is on a quiet street. The shower is in the room, and didn't drain very well.

Limpio. Muy bien por el precio que pagamos.
