Shapatava ApartHotel

The apartment is totally functional and in a reasonable location. It was clean enough for my purposes. The kitchen stove has a very powerful flame for quick cooking. I appreciated being able to wash my own clothes in my own room. No issues with the wifi. The heating worked fine for cool outdoor temperatures. On the whole, despite my complaints, I wouldn't mind staying here again for a few days, hence the 8.

One of the most annoying things about checking into privately-run, unofficial properties is arriving at a point on the map and being totally clueless about where your accommodation is supposed to be. Calling the owner is something I consider a last resort, since I rarely bother to get local simcards--which I typically would use only in such situations. The gate is immediately to the left of the cake shop, but I went to the wrong place first and was then directed to the cake shop, where one of the employees called the owner for me. I was further confused because the true address is Ivane Andronikashvili Street 41, not, as stated in the reservation, "Shapatava str., 0154 Batumi"! A coffee table is no substitute for a normal table/desk that I can sit and eat and work at without hunching over to the harm of my back. There are many places, however, including this one, that provide only coffee tables, although there is space for a normal table. There is a 100 GEL security deposit, which means you should plan to get it back early, if you plan to leave early in the morning. There is no reception desk, as far as I could tell, and I was far from confident that the owners would be available 24/7 to check me out and return the deposit. It wasn't too hard, though, to get it returned late the night before I left.

Very nice place with very nice owners, excellent for the price.

Good helpful owners. Location is quiet. All you need for long and short stay.
