To Spiti mas

A very tastefully renovated and decorated property. Convenient for an excellent restaurant opposite the property. Inures to the beach. Lovely comfortable outside terrace space.

Place spotless, great cakes and wine! Wanda is a great host and looks after the apartments well. We liked being a few km from the coast , great views, quiet and a cooling breeze. If you get a taxi to the top of the Agia Irini gorge you can walk back direct to Spiti Mas. Not too far away (about 30 metres) is a lovely restaurant serving proper Cretan food with a smile.

To Spiti Mas is in a wonderful location. The hosts were great (coming home to sweet or savoury treats was a lovely touch). The apartment has all the equipment required and the furnishings are very homely.

The location was lovely, out of the most touristy part of Sougia but close enough to quickly drive down for a meal or to buy supplies. We were hiking the Agia Irini Gorge and it was very conventient for that.

The parking is a little hairy but perfectly doable. Just go slow and be careful. The frying pans are old nonstick and need replacing.

Wanda was an exceptional host, and To Spiti Mas is an incredible stay that we can't speak highly enough of. Her husband met us at the hotel upon our arrival and showed us the property. The beautifully designed apartment has a spiral staircase that leads from a cosy living space and kitchen on the first floor, to an upstairs bedroom with a balcony overlooking the surrounding mountain range. A close drive to Sougia, where there are many great options for dinner - including Wanda's family restaurant, Rebetiko. A great place from which to explore the nearby gorges: Samaria, and Agia Irini.

Great host—Wanda. Great apartment. Beautiful view. The taverna across the street is wonderful.

Splendid quiet location, you are both in the mountains and also just a short ride away from the beach. Lots of hiking opportunities nearby. And a warm welcome of the hostess Wanda, who delivers a better service than if you were staying in a real hotel :-)
