The location.

The bed frame seems to be broken (still - based on previous reviews) which makes this property not a good choice. The wardrobe was broken (although the owner when he came to show the apartment said that he was waiting for a replacement). The towel rail in the shower was broken. Coffee stains on the kitchen bench, I didn’t find the toilet particularly clean neither the shower. Very narrow stairs, challenging when with luggage. A local friend said the property does not deserve a 9 rating. It is unfortunate as I wasted time moving in and out to another place that I had to rent to stay for the duration of my holidays. I asked the owner if I can get a refund because I didnt want to stay there as the property is not as functional or clean as presented on the pictures and my request was rejected as it was a “non refundable” booking. The location is great and central which was a reason I chose this as well as the 9 rating but the pictures are not representative of the functionality.

The best place to stay

The location is right in the old town. The apartment is equipped with everything you need and we even had small surprises from the owner.

The property was super clean, in a great location, and the owners were super friendly and helpful!

We had an issue with the fuse box- so we had no electricity or hot water in the morning. Additionally, the bed was broken so if you say on the bottom of the bed you fell through the mattress due to an issue with the slats.

Location is perfect! We booked a 2nd night when we returned to Heraklion as it is so convenient to the bus to airport and Knossos.

The bed is very squeaky every time you move or turn over!

Fantastic location, right in the heart of the old market area with numerous food choices and a little supermarket literally on the doorstep. The host provided a wealth of information that made navigating Heraklion easier.

Some of the furniture is a little tired but comfortable enough.

Locations was super central everything is close by, which is amazing if you don’t have a car.

The owner was super friendly and let us check out late since our ferry was later in the day. He was also super helpful.

Only thing is that there is this engine in the staircase that started working randomly at 3 am which made it hard to sleep and woke me up

nice clean apartment located in the heart of the city center. close to the main square "Liontaria". good amenities and a great host. It is nothing fancy but spacious with a well-equipped kitchen and close to anything you need. great temperature in the room especially for hot days. there are two AC units, which are great for cooling the house. Finally, the host had already equipped the kitchen with welcome snacks and wine. I would visit again, totally recommended, great value for money.

there is a steep staircase to the apartment and no lift. However, this is common for most places close to the city center in Heraklion. The kitchen cabinets, the wardrobe, and the rest of the room's furniture need refurbishing.
