OUTRIGGER Maldives Maafushivaru Resort

Don’t listen to the bad reviews if there are any, this place was literal paradise, it was unreal to see it in the flesh. Iv never experienced such a high level of care and politeness from hotel/resort staff, it was almost like being in a film. The food is 10/10 we only did the buffet once and ate the all the restaurants, but even the buffet was good, the lunch even better. Breakfast was amazing aswell. Other small things to mention, wifi is excellent and is more or less all over the island it’s not just in your room. Water villas have good sound insulation so great sleep, room gets cleaned twice a day so it’s always fresh. I was surprised with the price for food, great prices even at the the restaurants and the quality and authenticity of the cuisines were amazing. This place is a real paradise, the reef was insane so many crazy fish, baby sharks, manta rays. We were first timers and spend days researching 10s and 20s of resorts and it paid off, this is the place to go.

The floating breakfast food selection could have been better, although there may be a choice of what you get I’m not sure, we were just advised to choose what type of eggs we wanted, be sure to make specific request as to what you want and don’t want I’m sure they will accommodate!

Breakfast was on the level what you expect from a 5-stars resort. Location is good and comfortable for swimming and snorkeling. It seems that unfortunately the reef around the resort is dying but still there were lots of fishes, sometimes small sharks, turtles, sea eels, mantas.The gym is quite good as well.

The spa center experience was very good though I would prefer not to be an onbject of active oil and other products sales strategy by some stuff member. It is not a market place but a place for relaxing.

We had a fantastic experience! The overwater villa was superb, the food was unbelievably good, and the staff was friendly. The place is very well-cleaned, with the whitest softest sand and flowers everywhere. Dmitrii was super helpful and made us feel comfortable and cared for: he was very friendly and pleasant to talk to, explained everything, gave attention to even the smallest details and somehow just instantly made us feel relaxed. He also suggested we take a spa treatment, which was fantastic. We also learned a lot from him about the Maldives, seasons, different types of activities and so on. So if Dmitrii is your manager, you are in excellent hands. They have several restaurants and a coffee shop where they sell deserts, coffee and milkshakes. There are a lot of cosy chairs to sit on, we never struggled to find a spot - be it near the pool or under a roof or with the view of the ocean. The watersport centre offers many activities, but we only took fins and did some snorkelling. We saw a lot of fish, and even a relatively large shark - it's harmless though, and we were really looking to find it, you won't encounter it when simply swimming :) The food deserves the highest review: the variety of fruits and vegetables, delicious hot dishes and bites, all sorts of souses, salads, bakery. The chiefs are professionals, everything was perfect. Literally, every detail is taken care of, all that was left to us is relax and enjoy.

Only the stuff here deserves 5 stars. They are helpful and doing excellent job.

Let be HONEST - this hotel is definitely OVERRATED. The appropriate note should be 4 stars- in comparison to the other two resorts on maledives where I‘ve been before. The facilities is in good condition, but poor and rather low budget. Be aware that the island is very small, all buildings are sticking together and you would not be able to have a walk longer than 5 minutes and not around the island.
