Ferma Solaris Apartments

The residential units impress with breathtaking views of the sea, especially from the individual terrace areas assigned to each apartment. The furnishings are functional, and the cleanliness and service are particularly praiseworthy. During the day there is always someone present at the reception ready to help or advise. The helpfulness and friendliness of all the employees and the owner are particularly noteworthy. Looking forward to our next visit.

Only the bathroom is somewhat constricted, noticeably limiting the elbow room.

We had a wonderful week-long stay at the beginning of October, and it was the perfect place to unwind. The weather was lovely and warm like summer, but not too hot. Our studio was well-equipped with everything we needed, including a comfortable bed, fridge, a compact but functional kitchen, a shower/bath, and air conditioning. One of the highlights was our easy 10-minute morning stroll down to the small beach. While there wasn’t any sand, the crystal-clear water made it perfect for a refreshing swim before breakfast. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations for nearby restaurants. We’ll definitely be returning!

We loved the secluded quiet location. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we were greeted with complementary fruit and a bottle of wine. The location is wild and beautiful. Amazing little beach and the extreme stairs to get there :) Basic grocery store and local restaurants just a few minutes drive in the village. Most days we just cooked our own meals. Our child could use swimming equipment and pool toys in the pool and also take these to the beach. Truly, a place to switch off from the rest of the world and enjoy the sunsets.

Trash can with the toilet paper (you can not throw toilet paper in the toilet, it is the same everywhere in Crete) could be emptied more often in this warm climate. Filters for the coffee machine would be a good inexpensive addition.

Location good (need a car). Exterior of property: the pool, the shaded seating areas, designated quiet space per apartment, really helpful hosts, comfortable beds- were all lovely.

The interior of the property was so horribly old-fashioned; decor looked tatty in many places and furniture was old fashioned and cheap. Also it was very dark inside the apartment with harsh lighting. Air con took a while to be effective. There was no comfortable seating in the apartment. It also had a very strange layout of furniture. The host did explain that they would be updating the apartments during the winter months.

The apartments are not the best, at least not on the price of 200+ we paid per night. Unfortunately not much they can do as the architecture of the buildings is what it is. No privacy really between the double bed and the 2 single beds, no structured bedrooms or anything, the apartments are literally two stories kind of apartments but everything is kind of pilled up together (ie the double bed is exactly next to kitchen table and kitchen all together, so if you cook something make sure to open up windows. They should at least renew the furniture to some extend as they seem quite old (apart maybe from the beds), especially the small oven they have which kind of smelled when we turned it on. A price of 150-160 Euro sounds more appropriate.

The location and view are great. The grounds are very well kept, tidy, and pleasing to the eye. The (basically private) beach is accessible by a rather steep path (not for those with fears of height) but is beautiful and rarely crowded.

The property should renew and upgrade the furnishings in the rooms. They are frozen back in the 80s, but not in a 'retro-chic' way.
