Apartments Villa Mattossi

Our hosts were very kind. The apartment is also just a few minutes walk from the city. The accommodation was clean, bright and comfortable.

The responsiveness of the owner. Very clean and neat place. Comfortable parking in the street a few steps from the house. Brief and concise explanation of the location and nearest facilities, like grocery shops and restaurants, strolling suggestions and useful pathways - maps in the kitchen on display. Books and brochures on local places to see. Fully furnished kitchen: teapot, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, stove, refrigerator, freezer, washing machine - amazing! More than enough tea cups, breakfast cups, coffee cups, beer glasses, water glasses, cutlery and pots. Huge kitchen table. Huge bathroom. Sufficient heating. Proper bed for comfortable sleep. Comfortable couch in the kitchen. Internet access. Hand soap and shampoo, hair dryer, bidet in the bathroom. Great location, 5 minutes from the sea, 15 minutes from the town center (on foot).

There are no shutters on the panoramic window of the room, so the room is never dark enough to sleep comfortably, streetlight shining upon the bed, let alone during daytime. Bathtub is great, but it is missing the stopper. Too much useless furniture because it is full of bed covers, table cloths and souvenirs - waste of space. I would prefer more space to walk in the room instead of full cabinets of souvenirs - half of them would suffice. Fifty coffee cups, yet only two wine glasses :-)

Our trip was spontaneous, so most things were booked. Cash only, clearly noted on the website. We were looking for parking and A/C. There was free street parking by the house & there was an A/C unit in the bedroom. We used the A/C 2x's per day. It worked very well and only needed to be on for ~15 minutes and the entire bedroom was cool and the humidity gone. Therefore, for 30 minutes of daily A/C we were comfortable in the hot temperatures. The shower was in the bathtub. When you closed the shower curtain, the distance between where you stood and the curtain was ~50-60 cms wide so very narrow. Having doors around the tub would have been better. Also, if someone was running the water elsewhere in the apt. while another person was showering, the water temperature would change. Although the appliances were older (circa 70-80's), the apartment was IMMACULATELY clean & the bed was very comfy. The linens were ironed & crisp. The towels had seen many washings. Both the oven & washing machine had signs on them indicating that they were out of order. We didn't cook while we were there, but there were signs noting that if we failed to clean up the kitchen, we would be charged a 20 euro fee. When the neighbors awoke early and were having breakfast, we could hear them talking while we were still in bed sleeping. They were not loud or discourteous, but the window directly faced their balcony so even though the blinds were shut, we could clearly hear them. Also that you had to keep the blinds shut for privacy. All of the windows except the balcony door had screens (a big plus). The neighborhood was quiet & safe and an easy 10 minute walk to the beach. The wi-fi and TV worked great. The hosts gave us a small bottle of olive oil, explaining we could buy more from them if we liked it as they had olive groves. They were only able to recommend 1 restaurant that belonged to their friends.

Beautiful spacious apartments in a quiet neighborhood walking distance to old town. Parking on street was very convenient and the bed was super comfortable!

The apartment is spacious, comfortable and impeccable. Everything in very good condition. The host is very nice. In general you feel the family touch! Highly recommended.
