"Nice holiday on Como"

Great localization in downtown near restaurants. Short walk and you are on Como Lake. Very quiet at night despite the city center.

"Avoid This Property"

Location was great.

-Although the owner sent a picture of the building’s front door, the door did not have a number and was difficult to find. -There are no tables on either side of the bed to place items that might be needed in the middle of the night. -The pictures on Booking.com are misleading. -- They show a sofa and a bed but the description does not state that they are the same piece of furniture. Except for the bed and an uncomfortable desk chair, there is no place to sit in a space that could easily accommodate comfortable chairs. -- They show a well-lighted space, including the bathroom. The apartment is dark, especially the bathroom. I wrote twice about lights that were out in the bathroom; I never received a reply. -There were no instructions about how to use the combination washer/dryer. I wrote to the owner, without success. We finally figured out how to use it by going on the internet. -On our last day in Como we came home to find that the lights did not work. We tried the apartment's circuit breakers multiple times; the lights came on briefly and shut off again. I wrote to the owner; I did not receive a reply for several hours. By then, by trial-and-error, we found that shutting off the circuit breaker to the hot water heater allowed the lights to stay on. That meant we had no hot water that night or in the morning. When we finally received a response to our email, the owner asked if we were using too many appliances at the same time or if we had turned the heat on too high -- in other words, it was our fault that the electricity failed. I explained that we never used the heat and the only appliance we used all week was the washing machine, which we did not use that day. Then, despite our having advised that the electricity problem was only in the apartment, we were directed to check the circuit breakers for the building. The electricity failure did not result from anything we did or did not do.

Place was clean, comfortable, on the whole well appointed, in a great location.

Getting entry instructions was frustrating as they required selfies and missed my email with these, so entry details were received late (after check in time). Then no key in the lock box. But a lady was sent very quickly to let us in who was most apologetic. Only two bath towels provided (no bath mat, tea towel, dishcloth) despite repeated requests for more.
