Captain's Quarters 'As seen in Beyond Paradise '

Terrible cheap mattress and no bathroom toiletries, horrendous access, no thought gone in to welcome pack, everything clearly done on the cheap, wires dangling from TV, exposed pipework everywhere.

Shower

Location in Looe is great. 15 minute scenic walk into town for shops and eateries. Yes it's located on a hill but it's on one of the lower tiers of the many hills in Looe. It may be a challenge for some, but with arthritic knees I managed by taking the hills and steps to the apartment slow. Large windows let in all the light and offer superb views. Loved watching the train come and go, and the changes of the water tides in the estuary. Lovely kitchen area with all you need. Lovely seaside themed decor throughout. Being dog friendly is a bonus for us. Electric recliner was great for watching a good selection of channels for a quiet evening. Parking was a bonus. Challenge to drive in and out but got used to it and was fine.

The shower door is a bit narrow, and being a size 18-20, I had to squeeze in sideways. Problem with the drainage in the shower bowl. Would have been nice to have some room in the kitchen cupboards to store groceries and some hand towels and tea towels, but these are small inconveniences.

Ideal location for exploring Cornwall. Cannot comment on staff as it was self check-in and checkout so we didn't actually meet anyone. Nonetheless, all instructions were very clear Apartment was good had everything we needed and a stunning view.

The steps and road up to the accommodation are quite steep, would not suit everyone. Only one real criticism is that although a hairdryer is provided, the only mirror which could be used was very small and too high for me to look into!! Lighting in the bathroom was poor.

It’s a bit dated and the final access road and carparking was extremely tight . It’s not the properties fault but if you have a big car, it’s a struggle. Found the double bed too hard and not comfortable- but that’s just my opinion.

The owners were extremely nice and welcoming. We had a problem with our TV not working and within about 2 mins the owner came and solved the problem. The flat is a good nice and has very nice big windows and good views.

The entire flat seems like it is in the middle of being re painted. The bedroom and especially the bathroom are in a state of disrepair. Blotches of paint broken toilet hole in ceiling etc. An overall feeling of neglect and felt v dingy. The fan in the bathroom makes a noise like a fog horn and doesn't actually remove any steam. Easily the worst quality pillows and bedding I've ever had away from home and the sofa is sooooooo uncomfortable. We couldn't wait to.leave purely because there was nowhere to sit relax. This is the only time in years of traveling with booking.com that we have been disappointed and left a bad review. The flat has the potential to be totally luvly just feels so neglected and v cheaply put together
