Waterfront @ Ryedale House

Bright, comfortable apartment in a perfect location. Close to the centre of York, in a quiet building with plenty of space for two people sharing. The living area was spacious, the sofa bed was comfortable, and the big windows overlooking the waterways were stunning. Parking on site was easy to access and very secure, and the whole experience was great.

Location excellent walking distance for the majority of York attractions, great to have car parking included in the price.

Would suggest having heavier curtains in the bedroom to block out more light due to building opposite having security lights on all night.

Ryedale house is a lovely place to stay spotlessly clean comfortable bed and furnishings very quiet, secure and safe car parking. Great when visiting York everything you need within a few steps,

Location was perfect. Great parking. The accommodation was fabulous, it had everything we needed for our stay.

Instruction pack gave us all the info, though opening the gate to park the car required us to ask at the main desk. It turned out you have to press button number one on the black fob at the triangle . This is was a very small initial issue, soon solved.

Location and the asstetics of the appartment

The bed is quite hard

The place overall was superb. It was extremely stylish, clean and breathtaking. The view of Cliffords Tower through the picture windows was stunning. And even though the river below the building ran with murky waters, it didn't detract from the splendid sensation that we had chosen somewhere special to celebrate our sixth anniversary.

There were a few niggles. The bed was extremely hard. The shower wasn't perfect. It looked lovely but it wasn't practical. The division from the shower to the rest of the bathroom was more for decoration than any real attempt at stopping water soaking the rest of the room. You needed a degree in computer science to understand the heating system. I gave up trying after a while, my reasoning being I was only there for two nights and my time was slipping away. The TV, as always in these places so it wasn't a problem exclusive to this place, was just ridiculous. The worn out remote either didn't work or had a mind of it's own. It was badly tuned in and we thought, "Oh well, we're not here to watch telly i suppose" so we largely ignored it. I do often wonder why they supply televisions and don't maintain them properly. And on a personal level, something within the place kept setting off my sinuses. I'd sneeze on walking in and stop when I was out. I wouldn't rule out the god awful perfumed defusers that were liberally scattered about the place. Like I say, just a few niggles.

Great location for the city centre and the theatre in particular. Lovely modern apartment, easy to find and access, decorated to a high standard. Lighting was lovely and shower hot. Lovely kitchen area. Private secure parking. Friendlyand helpful receptionist.

Minor grumbles -.sofa bed was quite hard and not very comfortable to sleep on. Dining chairs weren't very comfortable to sit on but OK for a quick breakfast. Not a lot of room for the sofa bed - could only just squeeze round it when set up. Shower screen a bit short so water escapes too easily onto the floor.
