Moatside Gate

The location was perfect for seeing everything York had to offer. A very short stroll to the city centre, shops, Shambles Market, and of course York Minster. So wonderful to be able to bring our dog without any further charges or rules and the property was secure so the dog could be outside without supervision. The property was decorated to a high standard and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable but strangely the smaller of the beds was in the room with the ensuite and larger wardrobes so my husband and I had to let our child have that room and we took the room without the ensuite but with a bigger bed.

One of the reasons I booked this property is that it said it had a bath. A bath is one of my "must haves". There is no bath. I assume the bathroom has been updated as it seemed very new and there is no bath now. The listing needs to be changed.

The property was spacious, clean and well equipped. it's a short walk from the city centre.

Needs blackout blinds in front bedroom due to bright light on path outside, had to buy eye masks to get to sleep. Smell of damp in back bathroom

This was an excellent location to stay in York. Very close to city centre, yet very quiet . The property is maintained to a high standard with modern kitchen and 2 shower rooms. It was warm and cosy throughout. The kitchen was very well appointed, with everything you would need for a weekend.

There was a slight smell of dampness in one of the shower rooms, where water has soaked through cracked grouting. This requires attention. Felt check in time at 4pm was rather late. They should aim for 2.30 - 3.30 at the latest. Check out is at 10am, and the property could be cleaned in 2 hours easy. We had called to at 09.30 to see if any estimate could be given when it might be available, as we had a 4 hour drive to York. No information was provided, other than they would text if ready before 4pm. No such text was revived. While this is a good property, it is pricey, as such Check procedures need to be improved.

Plug socket in bedroom at dressing table not working. Could do with a king size bed ( personal preference)

Fabulous location, modern well furnished home from home…

perfect position to visit York Facilities outstanding with two shower rooms worked perfectly for two couples. parking was fantastic bonus as car was behind locked electric gates. I have a skoda karoq midsized suv just fitted within gates
