Simple Stay Beppu

Everything was perfect other than location. If you come with a car, it would be perfect completely, otherwise you need to take a bus to go around.

Large and functional appartment. Good fit for a family. Free parking.

Building is a bit old.

Location is ok to go to the hot springs in the north of Beppu and there are some very good redtaurants in the very close vicinity (5 min walk).

Once you retrieve the keys at the hotel, the directions to get to the simple stay appartments are lot accurate as they give you gps coordinates but the gps takes you about 4 blocks away. We had to juggle with the info on the nearby stores & restaurants to find it. Once inside, there was twice a very uncomfortable smell of sulphur, which we don’t know where it came from (we supposed it came from the sewers since there are hot springs all over Beppu) but this means that there is no way to avoid the smell in the appartment. Last but not least the shower was not great since the shower hose was heavily leaking and water was sparkling everywhere.

It’s a traditional Japanese style apartment on a quiet street.

Found a dirty soiled blanket folded neatly with other bedding; meant for the futon
