Pesto Guest House

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful building with lots of home comforts. Really comfy bed with good quality linen and extra cover as can get cold at night. Really well equipped kitchen including a stovetop coffee pot and fresh coffee. Good shower with hot water and good pressure. Heating and aircon as needed. Lift to the apartment so no need to climb all the stairs. Although appears to be on a really busy road, so quiet inside. Lovely host who got the lady who maintains the property to meet me early to show me around and give me the keys. Great location just above the old town and short walk from main sights.

Just be aware that those who do not speak Italian may need to use translator for check in etc.

The apartment felt like someone really lived there; it was furnished with love, it was beautiful and practical. A great host also!

The property has a good location, in a main street, with plenty of local buses passing by and only at 15 minutes walking distance to the main train station. Vittorio was really nice and attentive, pending of our needs and prompt to respond any questions. It was a really nice touch to have someone cleaning the apartment and changing the bedding every week. Iris was very communicative and helpful in explaining how to navigate the city. The apartment had enough space for the three of us. The building was clean and the elevator was very convenient.

We visited Genoa during the month of December so the apartment was a little cold at night and the hot water in the shower was insufficient. It didn’t ruin our experience but it’s valid to mention it.

The appartment is great in general, well kept, clean. lots of charme, high ceilings, adequate bathroom, very well equipped kitchen. Lots of mortars to make your own pesto, ha, ha. The location is very central but still quiet. So ideal for someone to explore the city for a few days.

Major obstacles were: a shower that was cycling from ice cold to piping hot which was dangerous because you can get burned. There is no real air conditioning but fans which expel the air but do not cool down a room. Beds can only be reached via stairs. This is alright but should be mentioned becasue it is not very cimfortable for elderly people.

The host Vittorio is fantastic! The property was clean, well equipped and in a great location & the bed is super comfy. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Genova!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

The location of Pesto Guest House in Genoa in absolutely perfect, and Vittorio is the best host that I have encountered through this service. Convenient location relative to the main train station, Porto Antico, Piazza de Ferrari, and Piazza della Erbe, restaurants, etc. I was able to walk everywhere within 15 minutes. The apartment itself is spectacular. Lots of room, fully stocked, and the mezzanines with the beds are a nice touch. I was very comfortable, the bedroom and bathroom were some of the best I’ve seen in my travels across Italy. Vittorio will even meet you outside, give you a tour of the building, and show you the excellent view from the top of the building before he leaves you with the keys and time to start your adventure. 100% recommend. I can’t wait to return!

Good location, right on the edge of the historic center. Walk to shops, restaurants and museums. Bus stop across from the building takes you to Stazione Principe in 5 minutes. Apartment has everything you need for cooking and cleaning. Vittorio is an excellent host always in contact if you need anything.

Very little direct sunlight. Room was always cool. Probably a good thing in summer months. Bed and bathroom not on the same floor Smart TV but no Youtube.

Host met us a block away from the unit to give us keys & all info. Showed us a fantastic view of the city and port from the rooftop. Great location, an easy walk from the train station. Food store one block away, lots of restaurants, cafes, easy access to all the sites we wanted to see and the ferry. Unit was immaculate. Bed was amazing, absolutely quiet and huge windows with screens - a rarity in Europe. Very safe and beautiful building.

Vittorio is a great host. He was very caring and kind and did his best to make us feel at home. The apartment is cute, clean, and well-equipped - has everything you may need for a comfortable stay.

The apartment is dark, the daylight barely comes through. The temperature was quite hot during the night in the sleeping place that is attached to the living room.
