De bedden waren goed, en faciliteiten werkte perfect. Ook een zeer mooi ingericht appartement. Host was een zeer vriendelijke, aangename man.

Veiligheid en het zeer onpraktische van het appartement. Alles is fancy gemaakt maar niet praktisch. Dit gaat van de toegang en hoe je het appartement moet verlaten (op knoppen drukken om deur open te doen en dan opnieuw om ze te dicht te houden als je buiten bent) tot hoe de voorzieningen overal gelegd zijn. De badkamerdeur is een doek die letterlijk aan een tak hangt die telkens als je er passeert op de grond valt. Je kan de badkamer dus ook niet op slot doen. De trap naar het bovenste verdiep is gevaarlijk mits deze smal is en geen zijkant heeft. Ook heeft het bed bovenaan een uitstekende voorkant waar je iedere keer tegen wandelt en jezelf aan bezeerd. Het tweede bed boven is niet voor wilde slapers, minste dat je beweegt bots je tegen de zijkanten (bed licht in een soort bak) of tegen het schuin plafond. Voor jonge mensen en vooral een jong koppel is dit een leuk appartement om eens te verblijven. Voor mensen op leeftijd of die iets praktisch en comfortabel willen, absoluut niet. Had er meer van verwacht. Design is leuk en mooi, maar een appartement moet praktisch blijven.

Charme/uitstraling, locatie en bedden

Verwarming duurde erg lang voordat deze op temperatuur was. Keuken werd al aangegeven dat deze eigenlijk niet geschikt was voor koken, maar was sowieso niet geschikt voor koken omdat er geen afwas spullen of middelen waren.

Shelter7 will appeal to the sophisticated visitor who appreciates art, architecture and interior design in the wabi sabi spirit. Vincent was a superb host. The bed was also very good. High-end toiletries. The location, very convenient. The experience will stay with me a long time and I am grateful for it. The designer made many aesthetic choices that others might question and some may even ridicule. I loved the overall look myself. The worn-out things add tons of character. But you soon realize it was not designed for the traveler.

Quite simply, this is not a comfortable or practical place to stay, nor is it big on health and safety. Be prepared for fireplace smells, uneven floorboards and uncomfortable furniture. The shower and bathroom sink is in a tiny room with minimal surfaces for your things. The noren in the bathroom doorway is gross. And the stairs to the bedroom are just plain murder. The flaws are not deal-breakers, just things to beware of. Shelter 7 rocks hard despite them.

Il n'y a PAS de parking sur place (car zone piétonnière et nous ne le savions pas) alors qu'il est indiqué le contraire dans le descriptif de Booking. Malgré plusieurs prises de contact, l'hôte n'a pas été très clair sur ce point. Manque de nettoyage à certains endroits, poussières, coulées d'eau sdb et wc, maintenance wc du bas. Escalier très raide voire dangereux pour la chambre 2 personnes au 3ème niveau. Simple demi rideau pour la sdb : adieu l'intimité si plusieurs personnes dans le logement.

Location is fantastic and the city is really great. The apartment has some nice stylistic features and the main bed is comfortable. The terrace is a pretty nice place to sit and relax if the weather is good.

This apartment is falsely advertised almost to the point of being a scam and it really ruined my enjoyment of it. The host's attitude was awful. I was visiting Ghent with a friend, so I filtered for 2 bedroom places. This came up and looked good, when booking it I clicked to option for 2 people, 2 double bedrooms (although even the 1 person option showed 2 double bedrooms). We get there in the afternoon and are getting shown around, get to the end and I'm asking, where's the second bedroom? The response I get from the host is "if someone books for 2 people we assume they're a couple so we don't make up a second bedroom, you need to click 3 people to get the second bedroom. I can make it up for you tomorrow but you'll have to pay another €30 per night". I said I've read the listing cover to cover and it doesn't say any of that, just 2 double bedrooms. Basically didn't agree but said he'd check the listing and revert back. Never heard a word from him. I checked the listing even then and it still said 2 double bedrooms (although no doubt they'll change/deny it after seeing this review). We just got on with it as we didn't want it to dominate our trip, but every time I was in that place it just made me angry. If it was an assumption they made and they made it right the next day I wouldn't have minded too much, but the attitude of the host was rotten. I simply wouldn't have booked it if I'd have known it wasn't 2 bedrooms as advertised. Other than that, the three flights of steep stairs get old very quickly, and there's very limited amenities (didn't spend much time there so that wasn't the end of the world).

Een prachtige plek. Om heerlijk tot rust te komen in het bruisende Gent. Ik sliep in de Zenkamer. Mijn kinderen boven. Die hoorden de kerkklok wel al vroeg luiden. En we hadden de pech dat het muggenseizoen was. Maar verder heerljjke tijd gehad

Das Objekt liegt sehr zentral.

Es handelt sich um ein etwa dreißig Jahre altes Objekt, für dessen Vermietung auf minimalste Erneuerung gesetzt wurde. Nichts ist gepflegt, alles verdreckt, verstaubt, einfach unwirtlich. Matratzen liegen auf dem Boden. Mücken kleben an den Wänden. Das obere WC hat eine oben und unten offene Schwingtür, das untere ist praktisch unbenutzbar. Licht kann nur über eine zentrale Stelle "gesteuert" werden. Im gesamten Objekt gibt es lediglich zwei benutzbare Stühle, 2 weitere Holzhocker (1 im Haus, 1 weiterer auf der Terrasse) sind bestenfalls als Objekte zu sehen, benutzbar sind weder die, noch eine Konstruktion Esstisch. Die Küche verdient den Namen nicht. Auf der Terrasse wird man von Mäusen begrüßt. Der Hausherr betrat das Objekt zweimal ohne vorherige Ankündigung. Beim ersten Mal hatte er die sich stapelnde Post dem Haus entnommen. Beim zweiten Mal nahm er unsere Anwesenheit billigend zur Kenntnis und meinte: "Ich dachte, Sie seien nicht da". Kurz darauf verschwand er in einer Holzvertäfelung des Erdgeschossraumes, die sich als Kellerabgang erwies. Am Abend wurde der einzige Zugang zum Haus von ihm zu einer Theke für ein jährliches Straßenfest verbaut. - Endgültig im falschen Film fühlten wir uns, als der Vermieter noch zweifach äußerte, er wisse nicht, ob er an dem Festabend das (wir meinten an uns vermietete Haus!) abermals betreten werde.
