Eine aussergewöhnliche Unterkunft mit Charme und einem verständnisvollen Gastgeber.

Die Treppe ins Schlafzimmer ist die Herausforderung, aber machbar.

De locatie was perfect, middenin de stad, parkeren kan bij de Kouter (circa 45 euro voor 48 uur) of Centrumparking. De matrassen liggen heerlijk. Unieke inrichting en sfeer. 4 Etages voor jezelf klinkt ook heel ruim (was het niet) en prettig.

Wij vonden het niet fris ruiken binnen. Het toilet beneden was niet schoon, het prullenbakje zat nog vol afval van de vorige gasten. Balkon/terras kan wel een fijne stoel gebruiken, dit zat echt niet lekker. Living heeft een bank die erg laag is (opstaan is voor oudere mensen denk ik een uitdaging). Keuken (2e etage) voldoet echt niet als je zelf iets wil maken, er zijn 2 pannetjes en de ruimte is héél klein (net als de badkamer op etage 3). Wij misten een normale spiegel (er hangt er eentje maar dames: neem zelf iets mee want het is donker en je kunt er niet recht inkijken!), iets om je toilettas neer te zetten en je handdoek op te hangen. Tot slot is de trap naar de slaapkamer op de 4e etage echt heel steil, met je koffer naar boven of beneden is ronduit gevaarlijk. Het was heel warm en we sliepen met ons 3tjes. Op de foto's lijkt het alsof er 2 dubbele bedden zijn in 2 aparte ruimtes, dat is niet het geval!! Er is een tweepersoonsbed en in dezelfde (warme) zolderkamer een apart glopje in de muur met 1 matras. Dit hebben wij niet eens geprobeerd, zo benauwd en klein... we hebben door de warmte en muggen (tip: hor) slecht geslapen. Domper want het was echt een bijzondere plek en de locatie kon niet beter. Wij zouden hier niet terugkomen.

The property has a really unique design and layout that really adds to your stay in Ghent. The interior is comfortably furnished with a relaxing feel. The terrace is also a lovely spot to sit in the sun. Finally, in terms of location, you are a stone’s throw away from the very centre of the city.

The property was visually beautiful. You could really appreciate the work that had gone into creating it. The road itself was very quiet, peaceful and the only 'disturbance' was the lovely chiming of the clock tower.

Although it was such a beautiful property, sadly it lacked a few essentials and practical necessities which made it difficult for us to fully enjoy our stay. Upon checking in, there was some confusion about previous guests who'd left their luggage to collect later, and the cleaners were leaving as we checked in. Therefore it was perhaps human error that hand towels were missing in all the bathrooms and kitchen, making it awkward to dry your hands or dry any dishes in the kitchen. It was also missing a shower matt for the floor after you'd had a shower. Despite booking the accommodation for 4 people, it was missing extra cups/glasses so it felt perhaps a little disorganised? The kitchen was tiny, and we had initially hoped to cook that evening, but it really wasn't set up to prepare anything more than hot drinks and maybe something small. It was a pity as we were only staying one night so wanted to enjoy the property the entire day/evening without needing to venture out for food at an additional expense. Overall it wasn't a big issue, but perhaps we may have booked somewhere else with a bigger kitchen if we'd known we couldn't cook in there. The bathrooms, again very pretty, but maybe not practical in terms of how small the sink was and the bathroom mirror not ideal if you are getting ready and it was obscured by frosting. Parking seemed a bit awkward. On the initial listing it said it came with parking but upon further inspection it was 40€ for the day, but we managed to park in the multi-story car park around the corner which was 20€ for the day, so perhaps a little expensive? Vincent checked us in, and he was very polite, showing us around, however as it was time dependent on our check-in perhaps self check-in would be 'easier' but the opening/closing of the entrance door would make this difficult [but it was also a little difficult to understand].

The property is beautiful, relaxing and quirky. The stairs to bedroom were tricky (and not for people with disabilities) but the apartment is excellently finished and the location is superb. Would stay again.

Apartment in a nice and quiet - right in the center of Ghent. Stylish interior with love to many details. Materials and furniture hand-picked in good quality - certainly above standard. Supportive host who took his time to explain all the necessary details of the appartment.

The stairs to the bedroom are extremely steep and the handrail does not go all the the way up. As a result, you cannot hold on to the railing when going down the the first steps of the stairs. You need to watch your step very carefully indeed. This especially applies to going down the stairs. Unsuitable for elderly people or people with reduced fitness / agility - quite dangerous for other people.
