Trendy Apartments as Base to Discover Ghent

Great location to use as a base to not only explore Ghent itself (tram stop was only a few minutes walk away), but also the surrounding area in Belgium. It was also really handy having a supermarket and a chemist a couple of doors away. The area and the apartment itself was nice and quiet and had everything we needed during the stay. It was nice being able to park the car securely behind the apartment but also great that there were plenty of electric charge points just a few minutes walk away when we needed to charge it up. Ghent itself was well worth a visit. We bought the Gent card that gave access to most attractions and free public transport which I'd definitely recommend. Although beware that not all attractions were open every day which meant that we had to change our plans at the last minute when we found out that where we were planning to go was closed that day.

The apartment was a bit more open plan than we'd expected, with no doors for the bedrooms. It wasn't a problem, but just a bit of a shock for our teenagers who like to be able to get their privacy. For some reason most of the pans were for induction hobs and didn't work. We were able to work around it. but it did seem a bit odd having them there if you couldn't use them.

Very good location on a quiet neighborhood that is also great to explore Gent as the bus and tram stations to the center are withing walking distance of few minutes. Self check-in that is very usuefull if you are arrivint later at night. Parking space is avalable if you are coming with a car. A lot of storage space provided and also full kitchen equipment such as full size fridge and freezer, oven, stove tops l, dishwasher. Smart TV that allow youbto steam YouTube and other platforms like Apple TV ans Netflix. Responsive host in case of questions and also detailied information provided prior to the arriving.

It is worth mentioning that the bedrooms does not have own doors despite being separated by the appartment layout. The bathroom is not separated to the main bedroom completely so keep in mind that for any privacy concerns.

Very nice Apartment. There‘s coffee machine for coffee lovers like me😊 it was easy to find and the Tram stop is not so far. Grocery just is just around the corner😊 plus a very helpful host😊

The other room doesn’t have a door and the Shower room cannot be locked . But its not really a big deal for us.

The flat was very spacious with plenty of cupboards for storing our things. It was comfortable, nicely furnished and had a nice terrace - though the weather wasn't good enough for us to use it. We'd recommend providing more cups - there were only two and glasses - aside from wine glasses there were just two tumblers, one big and one small. This meant having to wash them up after every use. There was a space to park our car behind the property. It was very convenient for the tram stop - just a few minutes walk away.

The staircase was very dark as the lights weren't working. An iron is provided but there is no ironing board so not much point in having an iron.

The location is good. There’s a store around the corner and a restaurant not far from the apartment serving great food

1. Check in was HORRIBLE! The host provided a code for the door WHICH DID NOT WORK, we tried to contact them, the first 30 min they responded being of no help at all. Then they disappeared and did not respond any more!!!! We managed (with no help from the hosts!) to find a key in the room downstairs and unlocked the apartment. In total we struggled 2.5 hours to get into the apartment. I contacted Booking’s customer service, they also could not get hold of the hosts!! 2. No WIFI!!! We contacted the hosts regarding the Wifi to see if we can reset the router as there was no Wifi. They were of no help…AGAIN! In the end I found the router unplugged in the laundry closet downstairs outside of the apartment. Tried to get it to work, no such luck. The host planned to come check it out, and then cancelled again. The reason being that „the service provider is having problems“. I find this a bit hard to believe as we had no Wifi for 48 hrs, meaning the services provider in Belgium had problems for 48 hrs 🤔 3. apartment was not clean!! We had to do all the dishes before we used them as the pots were covered in oil and cutlery with food. 4. Traffic can be heard quite loudly in the apartment where the bunked beds are standing Previous reviews seemed great, unfortunately this was not out experience at all. Being a host as well, I find this service unacceptable!!!

Room wasn't ready when we arrived at 4pm (even though check in was at 3pm). But the cleaning lady was very friendly and finished up quickly.
