Fowey River Views

Lovely property, clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished with amazing views across the river!

Fantastic location with views over the river. Really clean and well equipped. Really useful having a washing machine / dryer and dishwasher. The car park was only one minute walk away and reasonably priced for a week’s parking.

We found the double bed very uncomfortable as really hard matress. It would be good to have a few more tea towels, toilet rolls and hand soap provided in the bathrooms. That would have made everything perfect.

Quiet location with lovely view over river

The property is based on the North side of Fowey. It is well presented and comfortable, with a little welcome selection of local teas and biscuits. Caffa Mill car park (with EV charging stations if needed) is a few minutes walk away and can be reached on the B3269 (Passage Lane) without needing to navigate the narrow, winding streets of the town. While I would have liked to be able to park outside the property, I had no hesitation leaving my vehicle in the public car park. The town centre - with a few pubs, restaurants and shops - is a short walk away. The flat gives lovely views over the Fowey River and the Ferry. There was a cupboard with a few dvds and games. Having two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and a downstairs loo as well as the upstairs bathroom was fantastic. The town itself is quaint and attractive. If that's your vibe, I would definitely recommend a trip into nearby Polperro (but the roads from the ferry crossing are good practice for the Bolivian road of death). It's a great base for visiting sites like the Eden project and Lanhydrock.

It takes nerves of steel to drive into Fowey (and this is no reflection on the property or hosts - just be aware). There was dog mess on the streets around the property (again, not a reflection on the property or hosts - be careful where you walk). The key lock box is a little fiddly.

The property was clean, bright, warm and welcoming. In a great location with easy access to all that Fowey has to offer. We particularly enjoyed the view across to Bodinnick, and watching the ferry come and go.

There was nothing not to like.

Being close to the river, being able to watch the river activity and within walking distance of the town. The flat was well equipped, attractively furnished and lots of nice touches like the fairy lights and side lamps.

All the steep stairs. Needed a better corkscrew and the oven needing a clean; it was rather greasy inside and quite smokey when using the grill. Settees were, for us being quite tall, a bit short in length and slightly uncomfortable for relaxing on for too long.
