Rita's House

The apartment was huge and in a lovely area. Having two bathrooms was an added bonus.

The accommodation was a 25-30 minute uphill walk to the centre of Genova. There's a bus stop at the bottom of the road but the buses are unreliable.

Location, specious rooms and nice, clean bathrooms.

We did not used but the kitchen appliances would be more clean.

There was so much space for everyone, the building itself was gorgeous, if you like period style houses this accommodation is for you. There was a beautiful view from the window. The lift was so quirky and definitely provided some entertainment for us. We fit 5 people and a baby comfortably in the apartment and the kitchen facilities were exactly what we needed. Public transport was close at hand and we could walk around with ease.

The shower head kept falling off the holder and some of the mugs were chipped, and we couldn't close the shutters because they were locked open, otherwise this was the perfect accommodation for our stay 🙏 maybe if you were mobility impaired, it's not ideal as the lift is small and may not fit a wheelchair.

Nice host and nice view

Extremely old apartment with outdated broken furniture. Cold. Far from the port.

Spacious rooms, comfortable and relatively close to the center. 10-15 minutes walk. However, Genova is steep so be ready for climbing stairs.

No parking - there is a PUBLIC parking across which is a completely different thing that the facility having its own parking. We came late, driving from Barcelona, and kept getting useless advices from the owner on where to park since the public parking across was full. He didn't even bother to meet us. He was explaining me where to park like I have lived all my life in Genova. We parked 2km away in a public/24h garage (43 euros for two days) and carried things in hands in the middle of the night. Horrible experience. Super tired, ruined my vacation. Booking should NOT advertise these types of places as having a parking. They DO NOT have one. Don't come with a car. Elevator - tiny and only for two people. The apartment is on the fifth floor. A huge problem for people with claustrophobia. However, this is by no fault of the owners. It's an old building. Pillow cases smelled like nicotine. Or the pillows. I am not sure. Both me and my wife noticed this. Probably a heavy smoker slept sometime before us. Transparent glass on the door of one of the bathrooms - although I can see how this can be interesting :), I do not recommend sharing this bathroom with people you are not close with. You could pretty much see everything through the glass. Temperature - the apartment was very cold. It was explained to me that the owners can not do anything about it since it was taken care of by the authorities. Nevertheless, it was very unpleasant. I don't care about the reason honestly. It only added to the unpleasant experience.

Size of apartment was great

Centrally located and close to everything. The best part: washer and dryer which is almost impossible to have both in Italy. Large kitchen and nice larger bathrooms.

Wish there was a curtain in one bathroom that had a frosted glass where you could still see through. Most mattresses were not adeguate and need to be replaced.
