yafeth Osa Room Drake Bay Longe

I have found a piece of Paradise and experienced a true Tico hospitality at Cabinas Yafeth. It is located at Playa Caletas in the remote part of Osa Peninsula, between Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park. There are three cabins personally built and cared for by the loveley couple, Christian and Virginia, and their 12 year old son Yafeth. They live in the premises along with their extended family. Our largecabin was the newest with AC, modern toilet and hot water shower. Comfortable bed and pillows, and clean towels. All the wonderful meals were served in the dining area. Tea bags and hot water is offered along with filtered cold water dispenser. Cerveza is availavle to purchase. If you want to be in such a place, you must Stay here. You will wake up to the chirping of the birds and crashing waves at the beach. The cabinas are not oceanfront, and the beach is just 1-2 minutes down the path.

Not many. If you are a snacker, bring your munchies, as there are no shops around. Be prepared to encounter wildlife and big bugs which are more amusing than annoying.

Heaps of wild life.... hundreds of birds and butterflies you can see from the hammock on your balcony. Saw lots of macaw, monkeys and morpho butterfly in the area. Fabulous jungle walks with loads of wildlife, including the above everywhere. This is a very remote location, arrive by bus and boat, part of the adventure!. Cristian helpful with luggage, transport and tours Good wifi, when power is working, goes out a bit, but not host fault. Cristian was very helpful and quick with things that needed attention. Food was reasonable. There are a couple of great places to eat very close, one past the churvh on the left....basic but excellent for whole fish, that was wow! I enjoyed eating her over Yafeth. Whale watching was awesome, up close and personal.

I see it's been a long time since there was a review. I feel like no one wants to say anything negative because Cristian really does go out of his way. But i felt Cristian was not entirely honest, so I cut my stay short. I wish someone had mentioned these things in their review so I knew. The property is advertised with a sea view, kitchenette and pool. When I questioned this, Cristian said 'oh the family unit has a sea view.' It doesn't. It's a 100m walk to the beach. It's very nice by the way. The kitchenette - Cristian said he already told booking.com that there wasn't one... and the pool...he said it would be full with 2 hours of rain, but I was there for a week and it was belting down for many hours and there was never any water in the 'pool' which is a 3m above ground splash pool. You also need to be mindful with the washing. I asked for it after 4 days, but it was completely wet and I had to travel like that with wet smell clothes. It rains a lot here and really to do washing you need to have a dryer. I didn't realise there wasn't one. Also the walls were paper thin. Be aware. Doing anything private will have an audience. I was very lucky to have considerate neighbours. Cristian was very obliging when I said I wanted to leave early but there needs to be more transparency. No need to stretch the truth, Yafeth is a very unique taste of Costa Rica and if you are aware you can factor those things in.

cristian and his family are very kind and super polite. they can arrage for you all the excursions to Corcovado Park or to see dolphins and we whales

Shower broke, the water pressure was very low in the bathroom sink, the lunch and dinner was not that great for the price they charge you. Breakfast however was good. Rooms are very basic.
