Stylish furnishing in an awesome location

Shower pressure was poor and drain was blocked, although the owner sorted the drain very quickly

The location was great for York, Castle Howard etc. easy to find. Off busy main road but was set back and quiet. Good parking Comfortable bed. Room was clean. Modern bathroom Tea, coffee available. Good WiFi and TV.

Stone flagged floor was cold to walk on Really strange having a big bath as the focal point in the main room, not a good use of the space and facing the sofa which felt odd. Coffee table base needed painting. No bedside lights for reading. No welcome basket which is unusual in 2024. No bowls etc to heat food in microwave. The sofa was really hard and uncomfortable.

Perfectly located for our mini break with 2 children. 10 mins to park and ride into York and 10 minutes to a large leisure shopping park/supermarkets. The kids loved the bath at the end of the bed and we found it handy to have a kitchenette for food prep. Useful to have washing up liquid/tea towels and extra loo rolls etc as these aren’t often included. Apartment was clean and smelt fresh on arrival. Plenty of towels/hand towels provided.

The kitchenette could be better equipped- 4 of us stayed, but there were only enough mismatch bowls/plates and cutlery for 3 people, it felt like items people had left behind rather than thoughtfully stocked. Thankfully we’d taken some of our own so this didn’t end up an issue. Couple of chopping boards are provided, but no sharp knives. We found the linen for the futon bed after a bit of a hunt but there weren’t any instructions for this and we had to make up the bed and dress the duvet etc ourselves for our 4th person- not a huge issue at all but again, it felt like the accommodation was only ready for 3 people despite us booking it as a 4.

Easy to see the drive in the dark. Attractive and comfortable furnishings. Warm. Easy parking. Large bed.

Kitchenette area was cramped. Disappointed to find there was no oven, I hadn’t read the particulars carefully. Fridge doors had no racks and the ice box needed defrosting, could not use it.

Nothing

Was moved to another apartment which was nothing like what we ordered and was at the other side of York which was a major inconvenience for us. When we got there there was urine in the toilet still, stains on the sofa and the lights in the living room did not work.

the location and ease of access

The cobwebs behind the head board, i c contacted the provider who told me to leave a key and cleaner would visit, i did this and no cleaner attended The poor quality of the shower which could be so much better if the plumber had actually correctly fitted the valve correctly. Its fitted too deep into the wall which stops it from actually working correctly IE its either scalding hot or cold as the flow is too low due to the position of the valve. It should have an excellent flow rate as its fed by decent combo boiler, but what you get is a mere trickle, I was even tempted to bring some tools back and actually refit correctly. it would be even better if the valve was thermostatic as this would give a more balanced temperature

Plenty of space with good access. Easy to follow instructions. Good facilities.
