Oranch House

Very clean and quiet. Lots of room.

I have no complaints.

We liked that Heinz welcomed us in-person once we arrived and how beautiful both the house and the studio were. Everything was made with a special 'touch' with precious details and thoughtful design and equipment. We travelled on a budget and were particularly grateful for a well-equipped kitchen that even offered a variety of spices, oil and vinegar, coffee, welcome snacks and little samples of butter and honey in the fridge. Heinz also kindly borrowed us an espresso machine and provided ice for our cooler as well great recommendations for the area. He pro-actively reached out, when we had forgotten a personal item in the accommodation and shipped it. We felt very well received and Oranch was by far our favorite accommodation during our 2-week roadtrip.

The only good thing about the property was location but there were 10 other hotels to stay in near by that would’ve been far better options.

The ac only worked when the sun went down. The freezer and fridge needed an ice bag for it to keep things cool. Since the ac didn’t reach the main bedroom my partner and I had to sleep in the small pull out bed in the main room. When using the oven/stove the freezer and fridge would stop working. All appliances were outdated which meant they didn’t work.

The bed was very comfortable, and the hosts were very nice. I could not reach them via text message as requested by the hosts. Calling was better.

The towels had a bad smell, the sponge was dirty, and the snacks were expired.

It’s a beautiful apartment, spacious and well-equipped, 7 minute drive from downtown Kanab. I loved the rainfall shower and rustic wood decor. I met one of their cats and he is an absolutely gorgeous creature. The owner Heinz is a cool guy.

Not recommended if you are sensitive to dust or polyester bedding. Pet *tolerated* - doublecheck pet will be accepted and plan to keep leashed 100% to accommodate owners cats. Just would’ve liked to enjoy their nice yard a bit and let my little dog explore but not relaxed in that sense (normally we are confined to a condo so that’s just something particular to my case). Roku remote was missing but had my laptop and wifi was good so no big deal.
