Steps to Charley Young Beach, Ocean Views, Pool Retreat

The apartment was spacious, and mostly had everything we needed for our stay, although was dated and run down. Well equipped kitchen. The location was within walking distance to the beach and shops/restaurants. The bed was comfortable. There was free parking. The pool area was good.

The worst customer service I have ever recieved. They will only reply to you when it suits them. I often had to send multiple messages just to get a response. They do not give you access to the apartment until you pay a security deposit through a third party, which is seems very much like a scam, and is not mentioned in the booking conditions. It has been over a month and I still have not recieved confirmation from them or the third party that the security deposit has been released. There were many small ants and beetles in one of the kitchen cupboards from food that had been left over from previous guests. I messaged them about this and they said they would bring some insect spray, which they never did. There was no body soap provided in the bathroom, which I also messaged about and they also said they would bring, but never did. There is a washing machine on site (not in the apartment) which you need a code to get into (same as the pool code) and which you have to pay extra for. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, so you have to be able to carry your suitcases up two flights of stairs. You could hardly call the view a "sea view". Yes, you can see the sea from the balcony, but it is behind other buildings and trees. The air conditioning unit is in the lounge room, so takes a long time to cool the entire place. Definitely would not stay here again. For the price, I'm sure there are much nicer places around which much better customer service.

We liked how clean the unit was. It was spotless. The location was fabulous, as well. But we will not be returning.

What we didn't like was being held hostage at the door, waiting to gain access even after paying the $300 additional deposit to a separate website (felt shady). We finally got access after calling and texting over and over again. It gave us a feeling that these hosts were shady. You will NOT get access to enter if you do not pay the ADDITIONAL $300 deposit (shady). Also, I had to beg them to let me know where we could park. One very important detail- Be sure you get your additional refundable deposit back. I had to contact the host over and over again for weeks to get our money back even tho the listing says you get the deposit back upon check out. The host strung us along hoping we would forget or something. SO shady!

I feel like I was scammed. We stayed for two nights and there was a cleaning fee of $250. Then they said someone was smoking at 1am and charged $300 for more cleaning.

Penthouse? It’s in truth a 3rd floor walk up. Nice marketing 🤩 The plumbing fixtureskichen sink faucet and bathroom sink, aren’t working well.

It was a place to stay after they moved us from a different location a mile away. We had to walk there in the dark at night from another of their properties.

After a cancelled flight we tried to book a room late at night. We were sent to this condo after an app booking error sent us to the wrong place (Hot Tub Beach Walk). There was a big problem getting in and we were asked to walk a mile at night to an alternate property. When we arrived we couldn’t get into the room until we paid a $200 security deposit with a credit card and picture of my drivers license which we had to do in the parking lot. The whole evening was so stressful. We were told we’d get a refund for the first place but they charged us for both. The idea of “Ocean View” is a joke. MAYBE you can see the ocean if you stand on a chair on the deck? Plus my wife woke up the next day with bug bites. Don’t stay at this property. You’ve been warned.
