Quiet Kiahuna plantation , New Remodel with AC

The location of this condo was great for exploring the south side of Kauai. You can walk about 2-3 min to a beach that's directly in front of the resort (I believe it's called Kiahuna Beach). There is a small building (Beach Hut) at the beach and that is where you can exchange your beach towel cards for towels, which was great because we had nice clean towels every time we went to the beach. We stayed here in July 2023 and most days the waves were great for boogie boarding (the condo had two that were in ok condition), but you can also rent them at the Beach Hut. We also found the beach to have decent snorkeling. My husband and daughters took a surf lesson on this beach that we booked through Kauai Surf School at the Beach Hut. Unfortunately, the day they went the waves were a bit on the small side, but they still had fun. The Beach Hut also has beach chairs you can check out for no cost. The condo had an umbrella which I would recommend taking to the beach as there is little shade. There is a nice view of the sunset from the beach also. The condo was very nice. My teens slept on the pull-out couch that was probably about as comfortable as you can get for a pull-out couch. Overall it would have been nice to have a little more room for 4 adult-sized people, but I'd still stay there again with my kids. The A/C worked well. The A/C unit is located in the living room area, but the bedroom was cool enough with the A/C and ceiling fan. The condo was well stocked with dishes and pans, we did do some cooking. There were also a lot of nice extras in case you forgot something - a first aid kit, sunburn spray, etc. The condo owner contacted us before our stay and provided his cell phone number. He is very friendly and responsive.

The only thing I can think of that could have been better is that the people staying above us were very loud walkers. I dealt with this by using earplugs, but it definitely was a bit bothersome.

It was fresh and modernized compared to previous KHPlantation properties we’ve stayed in on other trips.

Too many air fresheners!

The atheletic center was nice. There was a cooler, boogie boards and chairs in the unit. Probably from the previous renters not the host. The BBQ's were clean and worked well. Kiahuna complex is a nice layout, but unit 88 is as far from the water as it could be. I would stay again at Kiahuna just not at this unit.

When your main feature is Quiet maybe they need to mention the condo next door is a construction job site and the 2 stroke Leaf blowers everyday, they make electric ones now. Could hear lots of walking around in unit above. Janky AV/TV install routing the cables through the louvers between the bedroom and the main room looked like it was done by a rookie and made the louvers barely functional. Booking site said a roll away bed is offered, the host said no, eventhough they were available from the front desk at $20/day additional cost, Paying up front and no refund should be a clear sign to go elsewhere. The "Remodel" was more lipstick on a dated condo, Granite countertops check, bath tub from the 60's you bet. The pocket doors between the bed and the hall were both needing work, the outrigger folks were super responsive and fixed them. Bar stools, a couple would be nice to use the counter as a breakfast bar. Decorations are literally from Ross with the price tags still on. Horrible pans and cheap kitchen items.

This is a bottom floor unit with a patio that looked out onto a large grassy area which was very nice. it had easy beach access. We walked to the beach through the property which took less than 5 minutes. We did not hear any noise from upstairs or adjacent units. It was very quiet. The location is central and convenient for Poipu with shops and restaurants across the street. check in was easy.

The pull out couch/bed wasn’t very comfortable for an adult. it would probably be fine for children. This unit seems perfect for two adults or two adults with small children.

The Property was lovely and very close to the beach and several restaurants. The place was clean and had anything needed to cook there or just walk or drive to some great spots to eat out. Beach is a few minutes walk away. The Lanai was great and the host had some beach chairs, etc. if needed.
