Benidaruma - Sakuramochi

The host was very friendly and fun to chat with even though he spoke little English. The two restaurants he recommended were very delicious and good value for the price. There was a lot of free snacks and tea in the kitchen.

The room was right next to the train tracks. I slept fine with some ear plugs. The system to take a hot bath was confusing so you would need some assistance from the host.

Show is the kindest, friendliest and most helpful host I have ever met (and we are traveling a lot!). He helped us out and answered all of our questions every day. He made us feel like at home. We were able to experience Japanese hospitality and culture at its best. Show gave us many tips about Kyoto and lent us a book with amazing tips about sights and Japanese culture. We stayed at Benidaruma for one week with a 3-year old and it was very convenient. The facilities are very comfortable and clean. AC is working very well so we had the best night sleep. The breakfast is amazing. We could conveniently wash and dry our clothes for free. Would love to be back at this exceptionally nice place. Thank you Show, Toyo and the family!

This place gives you a “at home feeling”. The owners are super nice and helpful. The kitchen is fully equipped and the fridge is filled with everything you need for breakfast. There are eggs and bread, jam and more. Coffee and tea as well. The bus ride to the place is actually really nice after a full sightseeing day. They have bicycles you can rent as well. We recommend for everyone who is up for a home stay experience.

I loved how the property was homey. The home was extremely welcoming and the staff was extremely helpful. I did not know the extent of how we we were in a home but it turned out to be the best part.

The room was slightly warm.

The owner Shō-san and his son were so incredibly kind and amazing. Shō is a carpenter and built a lot of cool and unique things in his guesthouse. Also he knows a lot about Kyoto and gave me so many secret recommendations of places that I didn't know about. The room was super comfortable and I slept very well and woke up with a mountain view. Benidaruma is like a traditional Japanese Ryokan but for a smaller price. I talked a lot with Shō-san and he even gave me a cup as a present at the end because I love tea so much. Thanks so much!! I will definitely come back.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Our hosts were kind and accommodating, and they even assisted carrying our bags up the stairs. We can't say enough excellent things about the hosts! The room was very cozy, and the property had everything we needed.

Our stay here was amazing! The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious and all the bedding smelled very nice. The kitchen was generously stocked with lots of food we could have at any time. The hosts were extremely kind and welcoming and went above and beyond to help us in many ways. The location is close to a convenience store and bus stop. We would highly recommend staying here :)
