The apartment is beautiful and very centrally located. Close to train station, is in central Leeds, with great restaurants and shopping etc. It is sparkling clean and spacious. It has a great classic vibe and character. The host are quick to communicate.

After you book, you will be told there is a GBP100 refundable charge and will be sent a stripe link where this charge will be made (its not a hold as in most deposits and its not through booking.com). Hosts promise to return it after check out, we expect it to ultimately arrive. This should be mentioned transparently and upfront on the website, not in an email from the host after the guests already made a non refundable booking, else the guest should be allowed to immediately cancel the booking. Booking.com refuses to accept that they have a responsibility to provide consumers this accurate information upfront before the customer makes a non-refundable purchase and a way to make the deposit a hold through booking.com website (rather than a charge through stripe) that drops off on check out. While the apartment itself is beautiful, the keys had to be accessed from a lock box that a city dumpster had been pushed right in front of, and it was surrounded by garbage bags and other disposed stuff. I would not have been comfortable accessing it later in the evening when there is not a soul around. The lock box area also smelled heavily of urine (and worried someone may even have peed on it or used the dumpster area as urinal). While the apartment is spacious, the split level design can be inconvenient because the bedroom is on the higher floor and there is a narrow spiral staircase to it but bathroom is on the floor below. The hosts have done a good job making a pull out bed available in the living area that is the same level as the bathroom. But for someone who may need to use the bathroom at night, the bedroom may be less use able. At present there is construction outside the apartment and that can be unpleasant if one wants to keep the window open.
