Location was perfect. The apartment was large with a nice sized bedroom and a great sitting room with a small kitchen.

This is a sweet little, old, apartment that has a certain charm. It is located in a great place on a principal street just inside the walls at the Elisa gate. There are great shops and restaurants nearby, but that applies to most of Lucca inside the wall. The kitchen had all the basics, so we were able to make meals when we wanted a break from going out. We were booked for a month and needed to eat some of our meals in. Massi, the host, was available via WhatsApp to address questions and issues.

I do not like giving negative reviews; but I depend on honest reviews when I'm choosing a place, so here goes. Check-in was a little difficult. We had let them know when we would arrive, but there was no one there to let us in. We had to call, and the host's very nice father came to open the door but didn't know much about the place. Re. the apartment: There was a small messy (dirty) balcony off the bedroom, and opening the door to it was the only way to bring in fresh air. There was no screen, however, so mosquitoes were a problem after it rained. Much of the lighting is a hodgepodge of little lamps. There is only one dirty window in the corner of the kitchen/living area, providing very minimal natural light, so it is rather dark. A large old chandelier lights the area, but is a rather harsh light. The AC mini split is in the living room area and does not cool the bedroom. We bought a fan to use in the bedroom. We also bought a clothes drying rack (we stayed for a month so wanted certain amenities, and it had said in the listing that a clothes drying rack was provided, but there was only a dirty, broken piece of one on the porch) and a toaster, all which we left for the house. Massi insisted on paying for the fan and drying rack, but said we should have called him, that he had a fan he could have brought to us. We did not think to ask as there was no one nearby, and we are not accustomed to having to ask for basic necessities in an apartment. The bathroom was adequate. When we do a month-long stay, we often "gift" the place with certain things we want/need to be comfortable. The hot water to the bidet did not work. The cold water in the bathroom sink dripped continually, so we turned it off and used only the hot water spigot. There are a number of small things that are broken — TP holder, one kitchen chair, light over the stove....

Very small but great and fab location. Very quiet

Key drop-off could have been smoother.

Communication with Massimo was excellent. Able to check in early. Kitchen well stocked . Location excellent
